Upgrading your Status

As you earn Status Credits, the following applies to upgrading:

  • You will upgrade to a new Status as soon as you meet both the total Status Credits and minimum number of Status Credits earned on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights, flown by you, requirements for the next level of Status.

  • Upgrade assessments are based on the Status Credits you have earned in the previous 365 days.

  • Status Credits are valid for 365 days from the date they are earned, after that, they are no longer valid to be used to upgrade your Status. Status Credits do not expire from your Forever Gold Status Credits balance.

  • To upgrade to Silver, Gold, and Platinum Status, 50% of the total Status Credits required must be earned on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights, flown by you.
  • To upgrade to Platinum Plus, 75% of the total Status Credits required must be earned on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights, flown by you.

Maintaining your Status

Once you reach a Status, you are able to keep it for a minimum of 12 months. If you are looking to maintain it, here is how:

Following your Review Date (the last day of your Benefit Period), your eligibility to maintain your current Status will be assessed.
  • If you do not earn the required number of total Status Credits and minimum number of Status Credits earned on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights, flown by you, your Status will be downgraded to the Status below your current Status.

  • To maintain Silver, Gold, and Platinum Status, 50% of the total Status Credits required to maintain must be earned on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights, flown by you.

  • To maintain Platinum Plus, 75% of the total Status Credits required must be earned on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights, flown by you.
