General Terms & Conditions
Between 12:00am AEDT Fri 1 Dec 2023 and 11:59pm AEDT Wed 31 Jan 2024 (Promotion Period), Flybuys and Velocity Frequent Flyer Members who link their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to their Flybuys account can choose either one of the two below offers:
1. Members will receive 250 bonus Velocity Points and 250 Flybuys bonus points if they choose to complete a manual transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to Velocity as their first Velocity transfer within the Promotion Period (this does not need to be their first ever Velocity manual transfer); or
2. Members will receive 500 bonus Velocity Points and 500 Flybuys bonus points if they turn on Auto Transfer and complete their first ever auto-transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to Velocity during the Promotion Period. Members must remain opted into Auto Transfer until the end of the Promotion period to be eligible for this offer.
Members are only eligible to receive one Bonus Points allocation during the Promotion Period and this will apply to the first eligible transfer that the Member completes during the Promotion Period. Your Flybuys and Velocity accounts must remain linked until the end of the Promotion Period to be eligible to receive this offer. Please read the further details below in respect of each offer.
Velocity Frequent Flyer Points will be credited to the linked Velocity account. Flybuys points will be credited to the linked Flybuys account. Members should allow up to 4 weeks after Wed 31 Jan 2024 for the Flybuys and Velocity bonus Points to be allocated to each account. Once Flybuys points have been redeemed for Velocity Points they cannot be returned to your Flybuys account, and they will be governed by the Velocity membership terms and conditions. This offer is personal to the Flybuys and Velocity member and not transferable.
Manual Transfer Offer: 250 Bonus Velocity Points + 250 Flybuys bonus points
If you choose to make a manual transfer as the first transfer within the Promotion Period, you will receive 250 bonus Velocity Points and 250 Flybuys bonus points on your first manual transfer of 1,000 Flybuys points to 500 Velocity points during the Promotion Period (in one transaction). If a member completes a manual transfer first during the Promotion Period, they will not be eligible to receive the Auto Transfer bonus points offer. This Bonus Points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Members who have previously completed a Manual Transfer from their Flybuys to Velocity Accounts prior to the Promotional Period are still eligible for the Manual Transfer offer.
Auto Transfer Offer: 500 bonus Velocity Points + 500 Flybuys bonus points
If you choose to opt into Auto Transfer and complete your first ever Auto Transfer (where you Auto Transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys Points to Velocity in one transaction ) during the Promotion Period, you will receive 500 bonus Velocity Points and 500 Flybuys bonus points on your first Auto Transfer during the Promotion Period. Members who have opted into the Auto Transfer functionality prior to the Promotional Period but have never completed an Auto Transfer are eligible for this Auto Transfer offer. This offer is not available to members who have previously completed an Auto Transfer prior to the Promotion Period. This Bonus Points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Members must remain opted into Auto Transfer until the end of the Promotion period to be eligible for this offer. If an eligible member completes an Auto Transfer first during the Promotion Period, they will not be eligible to receive the Manual Transfer bonus points offer.

If you’ve linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to your Flybuys household account, you can choose to manually transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points at a time to receive 500 Velocity Points per 1,000 Flybuys points transferred to Velocity. Or, you can turn on Auto Transfer and if you choose to do this, your entire existing Flybuys points balance (to the highest multiple of 1,000 Flybuys points) will be automatically transferred to your linked Velocity account, and every 1,000 Flybuys points you subsequently collect will be automatically transferred into 500 Velocity Points. There’s no limit to the amount of Flybuys points you can transfer to Velocity. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys household at any one time. To turn on Auto Transfer, the full name and date of birth on your Flybuys household account and linked Velocity membership must match. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/. Please allow up to 48 hours for Velocity Points to be credited to your linked Velocity account and for your Flybuys points balance to be updated. *Flybuys Velocity ‘Island Time’ Competition Terms and Conditions
Competition dates 12:01am (AEDT) on 4/10/23 to 11:59pm (AEDT) on 30/11/23 (‘Competition Period’). To participate, entrants must be Australian residents over 18 years, a Flybuys member with full contact details and a valid current Velocity Frequent Flyer member.
To receive an automatic entry (or entries) in the prize draw, Flybuys members must do one or more of the following actions between 12:01am (AEDT) on 04/10/2023 and 11:59pm (AEDT) on 30/11/2023 (Competition Period):
(a) Link your Flybuys account to your Velocity account for the first time during the Competition Period
Receive 1 entry into the prize draw by linking your Flybuys account to your Velocity account once during the Competition Period. This must be the first time you have linked your Flybuys and Velocity accounts during the Competition Period. If your accounts are already linked at the commencement of the Competition Period, you will not be eligible to receive this entry. Your accounts must remain linked from the date that you link them until 30/11/2023 to be eligible to receive this 1 entry into the prize draw:
(b) Manual Transfer
Receive 5 entries into the prize draw for every 1,000 Flybuys points you manually transfer from your Flybuys account to your linked Velocity account during the Competition Period;
(c) Auto Transfer
Opt-in to Auto Transfer (includes members who already have Auto Transfer turned on) and receive 10 entries into the prize draw for every 1,000 Flybuys points automatically transferred from your Flybuys account to your linked Velocity account during the Competition Period. Your accounts must remain linked (and if Auto Transfer is turned on it must remain turned on) until 11:59pm 30/11/23.

To be eligible to earn Velocity Status Credits or transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity, a member of the Flybuys household must link to a Velocity membership. From 31 March 2021, if you link your accounts for the first time or update your link by signing in to your linked Velocity account via partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/, you’ll also be able to view your Velocity Points balance and Velocity Status Credits within your Flybuys account. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys household at any one time. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/.
Once linked, Flybuys points earned by the household can be manually transferred to the linked Velocity account by any member of the Flybuys household. Or, you can turn on Auto Transfer to have your Flybuys points automatically transferred to Velocity, including your entire existing Flybuys points balance. You can turn off Auto Transfer at any time and will still be able to manually transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity. From 1 November 2020, the annual transfer limit has been removed, meaning there’s no limit to the amount of Flybuys points you can transfer to Velocity. Once Flybuys points have been redeemed for Velocity Points they can’t be returned to your Flybuys account.
As a linked member you can also earn Status Credits when you scan your Flybuys card on eligible purchases with participating Flybuys partners. Standard Status Credit earn rate is based on spend from the day your accounts are linked. Please allow up to two weeks after the end of each calendar month for your Status Credits to be credited. The Velocity account linked to the Flybuys household as at the end of a calendar month will be awarded the Status Credits. No retrospective claims for Status Credits will be accepted at any time, even in instances where due to technology malfunctions eligible spend is unable to be added to the Flybuys household account. Velocity members also need to fly on Virgin Australia marketed flights to earn Eligible Sectors in addition to Status Credits to upgrade or maintain a new level of membership. An Eligible Sector is any flight that begins with a VA flight number and does not include Reward Seats. Members who have selected family pooling will have their Velocity Points and Status Credits pooled from Contributing Accounts to the Beneficiary account.

Status Credit Earn:
4If you’ve linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to your Flybuys household account, you can earn the standard Status Credit earn rate of (1) Status Credit per $100 (including GST) spent each calendar month in total across Coles, Coles Online, Liquorland or First Choice Liquor Market when you scan your Flybuys card at the time of purchase, up to a maximum of 10 Status Credits per calendar month. Standard Status Credit earn rate is based on spend from the day your accounts are linked. Please allow up to two weeks after the end of each calendar month for your standard Status Credits to be credited.
Spend excludes the purchase of gift cards, tobacco, tobacco related products, charity donations and delivery/service fees. Status Credits will be credited to the linked Velocity account as at the end of each calendar month. No part Status Credits will be allocated, only whole Status Credits per $100 spend. No retrospective claims for Status Credits will be accepted at any time, even in instances where due to technology malfunctions eligible spend is unable to be added to the Flybuys household account. 6Receive a 75% Points bonus, on top of the base Points earned, when travelling on with Virgin Australia domestic flights on all fare types except Domestic Getaway fares. Receive a 50% Points bonus on miles flown in addition to the base Points earned when travelling on Virgin Australia International Trans Tasman, Short Haul and Long Haul flights.
7Receive a 100% Points bonus, on top of the base Points earned, when travelling on with Virgin Australia domestic flights on all fare types except Domestic Getaway fares. Receive a 50% Points bonus on miles flown in addition to the base Points earned when travelling on Virgin Australia International Trans Tasman, Short Haul and Long Haul flights.
8Platinum members are entitled to four complimentary fare upgrades per year from a Freedom fare to a Business Class seat on Domestic, Trans Tasman or International Short Haul flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia.
