Doing these 5 simple things could pay for your next holiday

Pay for your holiday with Velocity Points, no joke. 

The best part is you can get there doing the things you already do. 

You’ve probably joined Velocity Frequent Flyer because someone told you it involved being rewarded with flights, upgrades, hotel stays or car hire for the things you’re already doing … and we’re here to deliver!

Here are five simple things you can do – in fact, most of them are things you probably already do – that can go towards “paying” for your next holiday, from the fun stuff (online shopping) to the ever-present life admin tasks (like paying bills).

1. Check your Velocity number, then check it again

It sounds obvious, but we’re all guilty of getting a little distracted while we check our name’s spelt right on our flight booking for the umpteenth time, aren’t we?

If you’ve had a bit of a memory lapse (re. your Velocity membership number, not how to spell your name), we've got you covered.

You can download your My Velocity card to your digital wallet, or via the Velocity app (find out how in this article) so that you always have your Velocity membership number with you when you need it most.

Given you'll also need to quote your number in order to earn Points with many of our partners,  it's worth downloading now to avoid a moment of memory loss induced anxiety in the future.

2. Don't forget your flybuys

You know that flybuys card sitting in your wallet? Well, link it to your Velocity membership and use it whenever you do your grocery shopping at Coles, stock up at Kmart or a bunch of other stores, and you can put any flybuys points you earn towards actual flights when you transfer them to Velocity^.

If you want to “double dip” and get rewarded with two lots of Velocity Points for a single purchase – a completely ripper idea, to be fair, simply swipe your flybuys card and use a Velocity Points-earning credit card to pay for your haul, and then transfer your flybuys points to your Velocity account to be doubly rewarded.

So, forget about giving up those avos so you can afford to buy a house. Buy them by the bucket load and let them pay for a holiday instead.

3. Velocity Points for indulging your online shopping habit

Likewise, turn your new wardrobe into your next getaway by logging onto the Velocity eStore whenever you want to do a spot of online shopping. You can earn Velocity Points at over 200 retailers on the stuff you were going to buy anyway just by navigating to the eStore first, logging in and searching for your online store there so we can track your purchase.

So, if you’re asking yourself whether that’s a legitimate reason to add a couple more pairs of jeans, tops or that new sound system you were eyeing off to your basket – yes. Yes it is.

4. The (View by Velocity) library is open
