- Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus members receive Points bonus, on top of the base Points earned, when using our travel partners Europcar, Thrifty, Cover-More Travel Insurance, SIXT, Dollar, Looking4Parking and Cruisepilot.
  
  Platinum Plus members receive an exclusive Points bonus on eligible spend with Virgin Australia hotels via Hopper Hotels, Hertz in Australia and New Zealand, and DiDi in Australia.
- For Virgin Australia operated domestic or international short-haul flights:
  
  Select a seat when travelling on Economy Choice, Flex and Business fares at the time of booking, at check-in, or after booking by calling our Guest Contact Centre.
  
  Complimentary Seat selection is permitted for Red, Silver and Gold members travelling on Economy Lite fares when checking in within 3 hours of the flight’s scheduled departure time.
  
  Platinum and Platinum Plus members have access to complimentary seat selection at all times when travelling on Economy Lite fares.
  
  For Virgin Australia flights between Australia and Doha (VA1-29)^{^}:
  
  Red and Silver members will be able to purchase advance seat selection at a discounted rate on Economy Choice or Economy Reward Seat fares¹. Any other guests travelling on these bookings will not be eligible for a discount on their advance seat selection unless they are also an eligble Velocity member.
  
  Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus members, and up to 8 guests included in their booking will be eligible for complimentary advance seat selection for Standard, Preferred or Extra Legroom seats (excluding Group bookings).
  
  You may select your seat from the time of booking by calling Virgin Australia's Guest Contact Centre or the Velocity Membership Contact Centre (for Reward Seat bookings).
  
  You may also select your seat by selecting "Manage Your Booking" on the Virgin Australia website.
  
  Any advance seat selection will be subject to terms and conditions.
- Select seats from the Preferred Seating Zone – on domestic and international short-haul flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, depending on Velocity Status and the fare class booked.
  
  Add your Velocity membership number to your booking to ensure the appropriate seats, available for your Status, are displayed correctly.
  
  Economy Lite Fares
  
  For Gold members, Preferential Seating is not available on Economy Lite fares unless purchasing a seat or when checking in within 3 hours of the flights scheduled departure time.
- Platinum members are entitled to four complimentary upgrade sectors per year when flying on Virgin Australia operated Domestic or International Short Haul Flights and when booked on a Flex fare.
  
  Platinum Plus members are entitled to four complimentary upgrade sectors per year when flying on Virgin Australia operated Domestic or International Short Haul Flights and when booked on a Flex or Choice fare.
  
  Platinum and Platinum Plus Members can view their available upgrade sectors in My Velocity. Find out more
- Receive priority when you register for an UpgradeMe Points waitlist on your upcoming eligible Virgin Australia operated domestic or international short-haul flights with a VA flight number or Virgin Australia's international long-haul flights operated by Qatar Airways with a VA flight number. Subject to availability.
  
  For Domestic or International Short Haul flights, priority will be allocated based on membership level, with the highest level of priority extended to Platinum Plus members, followed by Platinum, Gold, Silver and Red.
  
  For International Long Haul flights between Australia and Doha (VA1-29), priority will be allocated based first on fare type and then Velocity membership level.
  
  The highest level of priority will be extended to members that have purchased an Economy Flex fare and then prioritised by Velocity membership level. I.e., Platinum Plus members that have purchased a Flex fare will have priority, followed by Platinum, Gold, then Silver and then Red.
  
  The next level of priority will be extended to Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold members that have purchased an Economy Choice fare, with Platinum Plus members having higher priority than Platinum and Gold members.
  
  Please note, Status is validated both at time of requesting the waitlist and awarding an upgrade. We validate your Status at time of request to ensure you are eligible to waitlist, and then we validate your Status when awarding the upgrade so that we can prioritise your waitlist request based on your Status.

- When arriving at the airport, Platinum Plus, Platinum and Gold members and up to 3 guests on the same booking may request to Fly Ahead to their destination on an earlier, same-day, domestic Virgin Australia operated flight.
  
  Fly Ahead flight requests at the airport must be made at least 40 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure time while the flight is still open for check-in.
  
  Members travelling with hand luggage only may request to Fly Ahead in the Virgin Australia Lounge or at the Service Desk (where available). Members travelling with checked baggage must make the request to a Virgin Australia staff member at the Virgin Australia Priority Check-in counter.
  
  Gold Members
  
  Available when flying Virgin Australia domestic Business and Economy Flex fares. as well as Business and Economy Reward Seats, and Business Class Upgrades..
  
  Platinum Members
  
  Available when flying on Virgin Australia domestic Business, Economy Flex or Economy Choice fares, as well as Business and Economy Reward Seats, and Business Class Upgrades.
  
  Platinum Members requesting to Fly Ahead may also contact the Guest Contact Centre on the day of travel at least 1 hour pror to the departure of the desired earlier flight, and;
  
  For travel between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne - request an earlier flight departing up to 2 hours prior to the departure time of their booked flight
  
  For all other domestic flights - request to travel on the flight departing immediately prior to their booked flight.
  
  Platinum Plus Members
  
  Available when flying on Virgin Australia domestic Business, Economy Flex or Economy Choice fares, as well as Business and Economy Reward Seats, and Business Class Upgrades.
  
  Platinum Plus Members requesting to Fly Ahead may also contact the Priority Phone Service team on the day of travel at least 1 hour pror to the departure of the desired earlier flight.

- Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus members, travelling with carry-on baggage only, can use direct lounge access and a dedicated security screening point at the Virgin Australia terminal at either Brisbane or Sydney Airport.
  
  The Brisbane Lounge Premium Entry is open Monday - Friday, from 5.00am - 10.00am (BNE) (check-in available when travelling with carry-on baggage only).
  
  The Sydney Lounge Premium Entry is open Monday - Friday, from 5.00am - 8.00am (SYD)

  Baggage allowances on domestic and international short haul flights are based on fare type and membership level at the time of travel.  Learn more about baggage allowances.
  
  For Virgin Australia long haul international flights between Australia and Doha (VA1-29):
  
  Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus members are eligible for an additional checked baggage allowance for their flights between Australia and Doha (VA1-29). The additional allowance will depend on the destination, whether the member is flying in Economy or Business class and membership level at the time of travel.   For all other international airline partner flights:

- Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus members receive complimentary membership to the equivalent membership level of IHG^® One Rewards Club or Hilton Honors™.
  
  This benefit is only available once and is valid for one year. To retain your level of Partner membership you will need to meet the maintain requirements for the membership of your choice.
- Gold, Platinum and Platinum Plus members receive complimentary membership to the equivalent membership level of the Europcar Privilege Program or the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards.
  
  This benefit is only available once and is valid for one year. To retain your level of Partner membership you will need to meet the maintain requirements for the membership of your choice.
- Members can choose to pool Points, or Points and Status Credits, earned by family members into one Account.
  
  There may be a maximum of six family members, living at the same address, involved in a pool – this can include up to four children under the age of 18 and two adults 18 years or over (including the main pooling beneficiary).
  
  To ensure all Points and Status Credits are pooled to the main beneficiary, the pooling relationship(s) must be set up prior to booking applicable flights.

- Members can pause their membership for a period of six months when expecting a new addition to the family.
  
  To apply for Membership Pause for Parental Leave, members may be required to provide documentation of pregnancy, recent or future child birth or adoption of a child in the form of a doctor’s certificate, a birth certificate or an adoption or foster parent registration.

- Platinum Plus and Platinum members can make one Reward Seat booking with a 12 month expiry for up to 4 guests on Economy class return to any domestic (excluding Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Christmas Island and Hayman Island) or international short-haul destination when travelling on any Virgin Australia marketed flight beginning with a 'VA' flight number.
  
  These Reward Seats must be booked six months in advance (minimum Points redemption applies).
  
  Effective 1 October 2025, Gold members will no longer be eligible for the Economy Reward Seat benefit for Benefit Periods commencing on or after this date. Gold members only with an active entitlement can make one Reward Seat booking with a 12 month expiry for up to 4 guests on Economy class return to any destination within Australia when travelling with Virgin Australia (excluding Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Christmas Island and Hayman Island).
  
  Guaranteed Reward Seats for an Annual Family Trip Terms and Conditions.
- Platinum members, who earn 1,300 Status Credits (with a minimum of 650 Status Credits earned on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights flown by the member) can gift a Gold membership to a member of their choice.
  
  If a Platinum member became entitled to gift Companion Platinum during their Benefit Period from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025, they will continue to have the ability to nominate a Companion Platinum for up until 12 months after the date they became entitled to use the benefit by calling the Membership Contact Centre.
  
  Platinum Plus members can gift a Platinum membership to a member of their choice.
