Transferring your HSBC Rewards Plus points to Velocity

HSBC customers can collect HSBC Rewards Plus points on spend with a selection of credit cards. These HSBC Rewards Plus points can be redeemed in many ways, but our personal favourite is to transfer them into your Velocity account!¹

2 HSBC Rewards Plus points = 1 Velocity Point

Minimum 5,000 HSBC Rewards Plus points required for a transfer.¹

If your card is listed, you can transfer your existing reward points to your Velocity account today or consider taking up a card that suits your needs to start collecting HSBC Rewards Plus points and transfer to Velocity at a later date.

Steps to transfer into Velocity

Log in to HSBC Internet Banking.
Enter your username and online banking password.
Select the Credit Card number, located on the left-hand side, beneath My Accounts.
Select Manage (located at the top of your screen), under the Credit Card Services, and then select Redeem Rewards.
Choose the Travel category and select Search.
Select the preferred amount of points to transfer under the Velocity Points listing and then select the View link to choose.
Enter how many blocks of 5,000 or 10,000 Velocity Points you would like to redeem and enter your Velocity membership Number.
Select Redeem to complete.

You can also transfer over the Phone

To transfer over the phone, please call HSBC contact centre 1300 301 168 (Premier Cardholder) or 132 152 (other Cardholder), input your 16 digit card number, and follow the prompt to speak with HSBC staff.

Redemption of HSBC Points for Velocity Points is only available to HSBC credit card holders enrolled in HSBC Rewards Plus. 1 Velocity Point will be earned for every 2 HSBC Rewards Plus Points transferred. A minimum Points transfer requirement applies; members must transfer in blocks of 5,000 or 10,000 HSBC Rewards Plus Points. The earning and redemption of HSBC Rewards Plus Points is subject to the HSBC Plus Rewards terms and conditions, available at the HSBC website. To redeem HSBC Rewards Plus Points for Velocity Points, individuals must be a Velocity member. Membership of Velocity is the Cardholder’s responsibility and is subject to the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time. The redemption of HSBC Rewards Points will be administered solely by HSBC and may take up to 15 working days to transfer into the Velocity membership account. Once HSBC Rewards Plus Points have been redeemed for Velocity Points, they are governed by the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions and cannot be cancelled or reversed.
