  • Hack your significant others' Status - If you're a Platinum Plus or Platinum member, you can hack your partner's way to Gold or even Platinum Status if your household keeps pooling Status Credits into your account once you reach Platinum*. 
  • Fly, shop, or tipple - Use your freshly flush Velocity Points balance on Reward Seats with Virgin Australia, an air fryer on the Velocity Reward Store, or even buy some tipple at the Velocity Wine Store.
  • Share the love with Points - It’s a bit like Christmas re-gifting. You can also manually transfer any excess Points earned from Family Pooling to another adult member of your household. This can be done up to four times per membership year increments between 5,000 & 125,000 Points.

*Platinum Plus members will be eligible to nominate one Companion Platinum member upon upgrading into or maintaining Platinum Plus.

Platinum Members will be eligible to nominate one Companion Gold member upon exceeding the maintain Platinum threshold if they earn enough Status Credits on eligible Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights, flown by themselves. 

  • Platinum members must earn 1300 Status Credits during their Benefit Period, with a minimum of 650 Status Credits earned on eligble Virgin Australia marketed and or operated flights flown by themselves, to be able to gift Companion Gold to another member.

Terms & Conditions

From 1 October 2025, Platinum Plus members will be eligible to nominate one Companion Platinum member upon upgrading into or maintaining Platinum Plus. To nominate a Companion Platinum member, Platinum Plus members must call the Priority Phone Service team on 13 18 75 within their Benefit Period. The nominated Companion Platinum member will be notified by email once they have been upgraded. Platinum Plus members cannot change the nominated Companion Platinum member once the nominated Companion Platinum member has been upgraded. If the Platinum Plus member has gifted Companion Gold in their last Benefit Period, they may only upgrade that same Companion Gold member to Companion Platinum. Companion Platinum membership is valid for 12 months from the date of upgrade. At the nominated Companion Platinum’s Review Date, Status will be assessed in accordance with the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions. From 1 October 2025, to be eligible to nominate a Companion Gold member, Platinum members must earn 1,300 Status Credits within their Benefit Period, of which at least 650 Status Credits must be earned on Virgin Australia marketed and/or Virgin Australia operated flights flown by the member. To nominate a Companion Gold membership, Platinum members must call the Membership Contact Centre on 13 18 75 within 12 months of being entitled to use this benefit. The nominated Companion Gold member will be notified by email once they have been upgraded. Platinum members cannot change the nominated Companion Gold member once the nominated Companion Gold member has been upgraded. Companion Gold membership is valid for 12 months from the date of upgrade. At the nominated Companion Gold member’s Review Date, Status will be assessed in accordance with the Velocity Membership Terms and Conditions.
