Earning Points flying Virgin Australia, Link Airways and FlyPelican is based on $'s spent whereas Points on our international airline partners (and we have quite a few) is based on miles flown.The exact earn rate differs depending on the airline, the fare type you've chosen, and whether you're a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Red Velocity member but we're here to break it down for you and make sure that you're earning Velocity Points wherever you can across the globe.

Americas

Whether you fancy a trip to go seafood chowder hunting in San Francisco, sightseeing in San Salvador or partying the night away in Sao Paolo, we've got you covered through our partnerships with Virgin Australia, United Airlines, Air Canada and Hawaiian Airlines.

Europe

If you’re looking for a European vacay, why not get there in style with our world leading partners Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways or Virgin Atlantic; and best of all, you will earn Velocity Points and Status Credits along the way.

We also have an innovative partnership with KrisFlyer (the loyalty program of Singapore Airlines) where you can transfer your KrisFlyer miles to Velocity Points. Simply log into your KrisFlyer account and select "Transfer Points – Airlines" in the menu.

Asia

From Japan in the East to Turkey in the West, this huge continent can be explored with Virgin Australia (flying to Japan from June 2023), Singapore Airlines and our new partner All Nippon Airways, coming onboard in 2023. You can also earn Points and Status Credits to Greater China (China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) with Hainan Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Tianjin Airlines and Beijing Capital Airlines.

Africa

If it’s a safari you’re after or an exotic beach getaway, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways and South African Airways can get you there. 

Australia, Bali and Pacific Islands

How to earn Velocity Points and Status Credits

Ensure you book an eligible fare and have your Velocity number added to your booking before you fly. Bookings can be made via the Virgin Australia website, the website of the relevant partner airline or via a travel agent.

Velocity Membership Terms and Conditions apply.
The earning of Velocity Points and Status Credits differs for each airline partner. You must be booked in an eligible fare class and attach your Velocity membership number to your flight booking. The number of Velocity Points you earn with FlyPelican and Link Airways is based on the fare class you are traveling and dollars spent on the ticket. Domestic and short haul international flight operated by Virgin Australia, and domestic flights flown as part of a Virgin Australia Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul journey, earn Velocity Points based on dollars spent on the ticket. However, when flying on a Virgin Australia-operated flight with a partner airline flight number (e.g. EY2004), or a VA flight number as part of an international journey with a partner airline, you will earn Velocity Points and Status Credits based on your fare class and the number of miles flown. Points and Status Credit earn on our international airline partners, (incl VA marketed but international airline partner operated)  is also based on fare class and the number of miles flown. Earn and redemption of Velocity Points and Status Credits are subject to the Velocity Membership terms and conditions.
