Conditions of Entry
The Competition is a game of chance and is authorised under the Permits.
The material used to market and promote the Competition, forms part of the Competition terms. If there is an inconsistency between the material used to market and promote the Competition and the Competition terms, the Competition terms prevail.

Entry Requirements and Restrictions
Open only to Australian residents (or any person that has a current Australian residential address) who are aged 18 years or over and who is a valid current Flybuys member (or new Flybuys member who joins during the Competition Period) and a valid current Velocity Frequent Flyer member (or new Velocity Frequent Flyer member who joins during the Competition Period).
To be a valid Flybuys member the Flybuys member account must include the member’s full name, a valid postal address, a valid email address and a valid contact phone number, current at time of the prize draw.
Directors, officers, management and employees (and their immediate family members) of the Promoter or of the other agencies or companies associated with the conduct or running of this competition are ineligible to enter.
Competition Period
From 12.01am (AEST) on 01/05/2025 to 11.59pm (AEST) on 30/06/2025.
Entry Method
To receive an automatic entry (or entries) in the prize draw, Flybuys members must do one or more of the following actions between 12:01am (AEST) on 01/05/2025 and 11:59pm (AEST) on 30/06/2025 (Competition Period):
(a) First ever link
You will receive one (1) entry into the prize draw when you link your Flybuys account and Velocity account for the first time. For your first ever link entry to be eligible, your Flybuys account and Velocity account must remain linked until the Draw Date.
(b) Manual Transfer
You will receive two (2) entries into the prize draw for every 1,000 Flybuys points you manually transfer from your Flybuys account to your Velocity account, which converts to 500 Velocity points. For your entries for manual transfer to be eligible, your Flybuys account and Velocity account must remain linked until the Draw Date.
(c) Auto Transfer
Turn on Auto Transfer (includes members who already have Auto Transfer turned on) and receive four (4) entries into the prize draw for every 1,000 Flybuys points you auto transfer from your Flybuys account to your Velocity account, which converts to 500 Velocity points. For your entries for auto transfer to be eligible, your Flybuys account and Velocity account must remain linked, and you must remain opted into Auto Transfer until the Draw Date.
The following additional criteria applies when transferring points from your Flybuys account to your Velocity account:
- If you have linked your Velocity account to your Flybuys account, you can choose to manually transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points at a time to your Velocity account. Each time you transfer 1,000 Flybuys points to your Velocity account, it will convert to 500 Velocity Points in your Velocity account.
- If you choose to opt into Auto Transfer, your entire existing Flybuys points balance (to the highest multiple of 1,000 Flybuys points) will be automatically transferred to your linked Velocity account, and every 1,000 Flybuys points you subsequently collect will be automatically convert to 500 Velocity Points in your Velocity account.
- There is no limit to the amount of Flybuys points you can transfer to your Velocity account.
- Only one Velocity account can be linked to a Flybuys account at any one time.
- To turn on Auto Transfer, the full name and date of birth on your Flybuys account and linked Velocity account must match. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at :-https://experience.flybuys.com.au/partners/velocity-frequent-flyer/.
Visit flybuys.com.au/transfer to manually transfer your Flybuys points.
Alternatively, to turn on Auto Transfer, visit https://experience.flybuys.com.au/partners/velocity-frequent-flyer/ and sign in to your Flybuys account then turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘On’. This selection will apply to all members under that specific Flybuys account. You can turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘Off’ at any time and will still be able to manually transfer your Flybuys points to your Velocity account. Please allow up to 48 hours for Velocity Points to be credited to your linked Velocity account and for your Flybuys points balance to be updated. Once Flybuys points have been transferred to your Velocity account they cannot be transferred back to your Flybuys account.
Entry Limits
You may enter as many times as you like, provided the criteria detailed in Entry Method above are met.
Prizes
Major Prize
The first 50 valid entries drawn will each be awarded a Major Prize consisting of a domestic return economy flight with Virgin Australia for two passengers. *
Minor Prize
The next 50 valid entries drawn will each win a Minor Prize consisting of 10,000 bonus Flybuys points and 10,000 bonus Velocity Points. *
There are 100 prizes in total to be won during the Competition Period: 50 Major Prizes and 50 Minor Prizes. Each Major Prize consists of a domestic return flight for two with a maximum total value for all Major Prizes totalling $314,000 AUD (each prize has a maximum value of $6,280 AUD for a domestic return flight for two). Each Minor Prize consists of 10,000 Flybuys points valued at up to $50 and 10,000 Velocity Points valued at $305.16 AUD.
The 10,000 Velocity Points may be redeemed for goods and services with an approximate value of $305.16. Velocity Points will be allocated to the Winner’s Velocity membership account only. Value is based on a sample of the Velocity Points options that could be obtained by redeeming the Prize through the Velocity program at the time of this promotion. The estimate of value is provided for the purposes of licensing this promotion only – the value of the Velocity Points will vary depending on how and when they are redeemed by the Winner through the Velocity Points program.
Total prize pool value up to $354,258.00 (incl. GST).
Prize Conditions
Awarding Prizes
Flybuys points will be automatically allocated to the Flybuys Account associated with the Minor Prize Winner’s eligible entry within 30 days of the respective prize draw date and Velocity Points will be credited to the Velocity Account associated with the Minor Prize Winner’s Entry within 30 days of the respective draw date.
Virgin Australia Flight Major Prize Conditions
Flybuys will send an email to Major Prize Winners which provides instructions on the steps to redeem their flights. Major Prize Winners can book their flights by directly contacting Virgin Australia.
Virgin Australia Return Economy Class Flight Prizes are subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. Flights are return economy class [Fare Class X] and expire 12 months from the send date of the email notifying the winner they are a Major Prize recipient. The expiry date for using the Prize will be stated in the email. The expiry date cannot be extended. Your outbound flight must depart prior to the expiry date of the Prize.
2. The flights are non-redeemable for cash or any other prize.
3. Tickets redeemed under this Prize are valid for Virgin Australia operated flights only and not code share services.
4. Tickets are non-transferable (i.e. no name changes allowed after tickets are issued).
5. Major Prize includes two (2) persons travelling together on the same booking.
6. All bookings are subject to the Fare Rules applicable to the fare.
7. All bookings are subject to availability and blackout periods which include: Easter, Anzac Day, Christmas and New Year public holidays apply.
All black out periods applicable are noted below:
- 28 June 2025 to 20 July 2025
- 20 September 2025 to 12 October 2025
- 15 December 2025 to 6 January 2026
- 2 April 2026 to 27 April 2026
- 25 June 2026 to 20 July 2026
8. All bookings need to be made at least seven (7) days prior to travel. This is subject to availability.
9. Bookings can be requested via email at prize.winners@virginaustralia.com Monday - Friday between 09.00 - 17.00 AEST.
10. Flights booked cannot be changed or cancelled online. You will need to contact Virgin Australia’s Guest Contact Centre (13 67 89). Changes or cancellations may be subject to a fee in accordance with Fare Rules applicable to your booking. Changes and cancellations are subject to availability and must be made at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure. Fare differences may apply.
11. Virgin Australia’s terms and conditions of carriage apply to the Ticket. Virgin Australia’s terms and conditions of carriage are online available at: http://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/about-us/legal-policies/conditions-of-carriage/.
12. If for any reason a winner does not, once the flights have been booked, notify Virgin Australia at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure that they and/or their companion are unable to take the booked flight at the time stipulated, their prize will be forfeited and cannot be redeemed for cash.
13. Tickets may not be sold or offered for resale (including via online auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services, either by the original recipient or any subsequent bearer. If a Ticket is sold or used in breach of this condition, it will be cancelled at Virgin Australia’s sole discretion.
14. Tickets cannot be upgraded and are not valid to earn Velocity Points or status credits.
15. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and your travel companion(s) (if any) are fit to travel and have the requisite visas, vaccinations, valid documentation (including but not limited to valid passports and visas) which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility.
16. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination or as part of the prize.
17. A winner is responsible for all other expenses including spending money, flight upgrades, meals, drinks, transfers, luggage costs, laundry charges, activities, incidentals, taxes, energy surcharges, gratuities, service charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurrent in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
18. As a condition of accepting or participating in a Prize, a winner and the winner’s companion/s must accept these conditions. The Major Prize winner is expected to provide a copy of these terms and conditions to their chosen companion. A winner is fully responsible for the acts and omissions of any companion/s and the Promoter may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit participation in this competition by, the winner and any companion, if the winner or their companion breaches these conditions, whether or not legally bound by them.
19. The awarding of the Major Prize, including all flights and flight booking related enquiries will be handled by Velocity Frequent Flyer and Virgin Australia Airlines. Minor Prize components are the responsibility of, and will be provided by Flybuys and Velocity, respectively.
Winner determination for Flybuys household accounts Only Flybuys members who are the named Flybuys primary account holder will be eligible to win a prize.
Individuals whose Flybuys membership card is linked to another Flybuys account as a ‘household member’ are eligible to enter this competition, however if their entry is drawn as the winning entry, then the prize will be awarded to the individual who is the named Flybuys primary account holder, and not the individual who holds the linked account.
Draw Details
The Competition Period is 60 days, and the Promoter will draw the winners from the pool of valid entrants at the Draw Time on the Draw Date at the Draw Address.
The first 50 valid entries drawn will each win a Major Prize and the next 50 valid entries drawn will each win a Minor Prize.
The draw is for entries received during the Competition Period.
The first 100 valid entries drawn by the Promoter from entries received during the Competition Period will win a prize.
The awarding of prizes is restricted to one prize per entrant, except for SA residents.
The Prize Draw will be conducted at 10.00am (AEST) (Draw Time) on the Draw Date which will occur on 07/07/2025 at Focal Promotions, 2/7 Stayner Street Beaumaris VIC 3193.
The Promoter may request that winners provide proof of identity, proof of age and proof of residency to the Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction before awarding the prize. If a winner does not provide proof of identity, proof of age or proof of residency to the Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction within 90 days after being drawn as a winner, the Promoter may redraw the prize in accordance with the Unclaimed Prize Draw details.
Winner Notification and Publication
The winners will be notified via email within seven (7) days after the Draw Date and the winners’ first name initial, last name and postcode will be posted on the Flybuys website and Velocity website within seven (7) days after the prize draw date for a period of 28 days.
If there is no prize winner or the prize winner cannot be found, the Promoter will publish that information on their website at www.flybuys.com.au.
Unclaimed Prize Draw Details 10.00am (AEST) on 08/10/2025 at the same location as the original draw.
Unclaimed Prize Draw Winner Notification and Publication Any prize draw winners in the Unclaimed Prize Draw will be notified in writing (or via email) within seven (7) days after the Draw Date and the winners’ first name initial, last name and will be posted on the Flybuys website within seven (7) days after the draw date for a period of 28 days.

1. Information regarding prizes and how to enter forms part of these conditions. The entrant may be automatically entered into the competition if the Entry Method criteria has been met. By entering into this Competition, entrants agree to these terms and conditions. A winner agrees to these terms and conditions by accepting a prize.
2. Entries must be received during the Competition Period. Entries are deemed to be received at the time they are received by the Promoter’s database and not at the time of submission by the entrant. The Promoter has no control over communications networks and is not liable for any problems associated with them due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter is not liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred. Entrants who enter using multiple aliases may be disqualified. Consumers are responsible for their own costs associated with accessing the Internet. Automatically generated entries may be disqualified.
3. The Promoter may communicate or advertise this competition using Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms. However, the competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with those social media platforms. Entrants are providing their information to the Promoter and any other third parties as outlined in clause 19, and not to the social media platforms. Each entrant completely releases Instagram, Facebook and all other social media platforms from any and all liability.
4. The Promoter is not liable for late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, incorrectly submitted, delayed or illegible entries, correspondence or claims for prizes due to error, omission, tampering, theft, destruction or otherwise.
5. If an entrant’s contact details change or they do not wish to participate in the Competition, the entrant must notify the Promoter by calling the Flybuys service centre (13 11 16).
6. The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this competition by, any person (including without limitation an entrant (or any companions, including a winner) who tampers with or benefits from any tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the competition or acts in violation of these conditions, acts in a disruptive manner or acts with the intent or effect of annoying, abusing, threatening or harassing any other person or behaves in a manner which may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter or any of its related bodies corporate or the agencies or companies associated with this competition, is contrary to law or is otherwise inappropriate. An entrant is fully responsible for the acts and omissions of any companion/s, including a winner, and the Promoter may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this competition by, the entrant and any of their companions (including a winner) if the entrant or any of their companions breaches these conditions, whether or not legally bound by them. The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. The draws will be conducted at the times, on the dates and at the location as stated in the Draw Details.
8. The Promoter may require the winners to provide proof of identity, age, residency, winning social media profile, email address associated with their Flybuys account and Flybuys membership number. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s discretion.
9. If a winning entry is deemed not to comply with these conditions of entry, the entry will be discarded, and a new winner of that prize will be determined by drawing a further valid entry in accordance with the Unclaimed Prize Draw Details.
10. Any prize is as stated in the Prize Details. Flybuys bonus points are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in points value. Bonus Flybuys points are subject to Flybuys’ Terms and Conditions detailed at https://experience.flybuys.com.au/flybuys-terms-and-conditions/. Use of Velocity Points is subject to the Velocity Members Terms and Conditions, which are located on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website at: https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/TermsConditions/.
11. A travel prize may be subject to booking and availability, and subject to any terms and conditions imposed by the relevant providers. All costs associated with a travel prize which are not expressly listed in the Prize Details, including additional spending money, passport and visa costs, additional transfer costs, meals, taxes, insurance, luggage costs and all other ancillary costs, are the responsibility of the winner (and any companion/s). Unless otherwise specified, a winner and any companion/s must depart and return at the same time using the same air carrier. A winner (and any companion/s) is responsible for ensuring they have all necessary travel insurance and documents to travel to the relevant location(s) (including any passports and visas). The Promoter is not responsible for the cancellation, delay or rescheduling of any part of a travel prize and any resulting costs incurred by a winner (and any companion/s) (including accommodation costs) will be the responsibility of the winner (and any companion/s) (as relevant). The winner is responsible for ensuring that they (and any companion/s) are fit to travel, comply with any health or government requirements and have received appropriate immunisations and/or health checks prior to travelling. No travel insurance is included in any travel prize. The Promoter makes no representations about the travel destination or government travel warnings to any overseas destination.
12. The winners will be notified in accordance with the Winner Notification and Publication section of these conditions. By entering this competition, each entrant requests that their full address not be published. The Promoter may ask and seek consent of the winners that winners (and any companions) participate in promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding the winning of any prize, free of charge, and the Promoter may seek consent to the Promoter using their names and images in promotional material. The Promoter will contact them for their written consent prior to publishing their names or images for promotional activity in accordance with this clause. Winners and entrants can elect whether or not they wish to participate in this additional activity.
13. Any disputes concerning this competition will be resolved privately between the disputing party and the Promoter.
14. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and (except where cash is specified) cannot be redeemed for cash. If for any reason a winner (or their companion) does not take an element of a prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then that element of the prize will be forfeited, and cash will not be supplied instead. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If a prize or any element of a prize is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter may substitute that prize or an element of that prize for another item of equal or higher value as determined by the Promoter, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities if required.
15. If for whatever reason, a prize cannot be allocated in accordance with the ‘Prizes’ section of these conditions of entry, the relevant winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and the Promoter will conduct any further prize draws in accordance with the Unclaimed Prize Draw Details as are necessary to distribute the relevant prize, subject to any requirements of the relevant gaming authorities. Any winner(s) in this draw will be notified as stated in the Unclaimed Prize Draw Winner Notification and Publication.
16. Entrants and Winners have rights under the Australian Consumer Law and other similar legislation which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by the Promoter. These terms and conditions do not exclude, restrict or limit those statutory rights in any way. However, to the extent that it is permitted to do so, the Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury (including, without limitation, allergies, skin conditions or other reactions), illness or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). Nothing in these conditions restricts, excludes or modifies or purports to restrict, exclude or modify any statutory consumer rights under any applicable law including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.
17. Without limiting paragraph 15, the Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any damage, loss or delay in transit to prizes. Prizes will be delivered in Australia only.
18. If for any reason any aspect of this competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities if required.
19. The Promoter is not liable for any tax implications arising from prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. Where this competition involves, for GST purposes, supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, entrants will follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
20. The Promoter collects personal information about entrants and winners in order to run the Competition, including awarding the prize and disclosure to third parties, including Velocity Frequent Flyer Pty Ltd, the Promotor’s agents or third-party service providers, which includes Focal Promotions Pty. Ltd. (ABN: 76 007 374 325), for the purpose of conducting the Competition, or for promotional and marketing purposes. By entering into the Competition, the entrant warrants that they consent, and they have obtained the winner’s consent to provide the Promoter with the winner’s personal information. The Promoter uses and manages entrants’ and winners’ personal information in accordance with its privacy policy which is available at https://experience.flybuys.com.au/policies/privacy-policy/. By entering the Competition, each entrant and winner consents to the Promoter using their personal information for future marketing and promotional purposes. When the Promoter shares personal information with Velocity Frequent Flyer, Velocity will handle that information in accordance with its Privacy Statement and the Virgin Australia Group Privacy Policy.
