Upgrades now available from Saver Fares in the Lounge

After a successful trial, we are pleased to announce that upgrades from Saver Fares using UpgradeMe Points are now available in all Virgin Australia Lounges.

Velocity members with access to the Virgin Australia Lounge are now able to request upgrades from a Saver fare to Business Class on domestic Virgin Australia services using their Points*.

Upgrades can be requested from three hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time. Requests close 40 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure time. Upgrades are not guaranteed and all upgrades are subject to Reward Seat availability. Flights must be marketed and operated by Virgin Australia, and issued on Virgin Australia ticket stock (featuring a ticket number beginning with “795”). UpgradeMe Platinum Member Offer remains unchanged and is only available on a Flexi Fare.

You can also request to upgrade your flight online or by contacting the Membership Contact Centre at least three hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time.

*All flight upgrades using Points are subject to the Member Terms and Conditions. All upgrades are subject to Business Class Reward Seat availability and to an Upgrade Cancellation and Amendment Policy.
