Domestic Flight Upgrades at the Lounge

We are pleased to announce that eligible Velocity members can now upgrade domestic Flexi Fare flights at the Virgin Australia lounge using Points. Platinum members may also request to use Complimentary Fare Upgrades at the Virgin Australia lounge.

Members who are eligible to access the Virgin Australia lounge will be able to request an upgrade from three hours prior to the flight departure. Upgrade requests close 40 minutes before the scheduled departure. You can still request Flight Upgrades through the Membership Contact Centre any time after you have booked your flight, up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure, including upgrades for international short haul flights.

All domestic flight upgrades at Virgin Australia lounges are subject to Business Reward Seat availability.


Terms and Conditions: Members are eligible for an Upgrade using Points, or Complimentary Fare Upgrade for Platinum members, provided they are travelling on a Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight, their fare is a domestic Flexi fare (Y, B, H, K or L fare classes) and they are ticketed on Virgin Australia ticket stock (featuring a ticket number beginning with “795). Virgin Australia Lounges can only process Upgrades Using Points for Virgin Australia Domestic flights departing from the city where the Virgin Australia Lounge processing the Upgrade is located. The provision of Business Class upgrades at the Virgin Australia Lounge is subject to availability of the applicable booking class and operational requirements. Business Class catering may not be available in the event of catering restrictions. Special meals may not be available in the upgraded class. Virgin Australia may restrict this facility without prior notice due to airport operational requirements.
