  Please have your active Australian issued Visa credit or debit 16-digit payment card number (also known as the Primary Account Number or PAN) ready. The card must be in the same name as the Velocity member redeeming the Velocity Points.

  If you don’t have an eligible Australian issued Visa credit or debit card, you are currently unable to use Pay with Points. We are working to bring on other payment networks as soon as possible, watch this space.

• 2. Link your card

  Haven’t linked your card yet?

  To use Pay with Points, you will first need to link your eligible Visa credit or debit card within the Velocity App. Linking your card is simple, just follow the prompts to ‘Link a Card’. 

  You’ll be asked to enter your 16-digit card number (also known as the Primary Account Number or PAN). By doing this, we’re able to send you eligible Pay with Points transactions when you use your linked card to make a purchase with one of our participating partners. 

  At the time of linking your card, we also ask you to opt into the ‘Velocity exclusives, Pay with Points’ subscription preference in your Velocity account (if you're not already opted in) and have notifications switched on in the Velocity App and your personal device settings.^* This ensures you will never miss an opportunity to Pay with Points.

  Need to update your card? Remove the existing one or link another card.

  You can link up to five (5) eligible Visa credit or debit cards at any one time. You can also remove linked cards any time via the Pay with Points Manage Cards page in the Velocity App. By removing all linked cards, you will no longer be able to use Pay with Points.

  Please note that Velocity may also de-link or remove linked payment card(s) if the card is inactive, meaning it has not been used for a Pay with Points transaction for 6 or more months. Payment cards de-linked or removed for inactivity may be re-linked via the Velocity App.^*

  Pro tip: If you are riding with Didi, ensure your linked payment card is the same eligible Visa credit or debit card that is linked in your Velocity App.

• 3. You're all set, time to Pay with Points

  That's it, you're ready to Pay with Points! You can now redeem your Velocity Points on eligible transactions at participating partners and get your money credited back to your linked card.^*

  The option to Pay with Points for eligible transactions expires 7 days after the purchase is processed. Velocity Points used for Pay with Points transactions cannot be reversed or refunded once completed.^*

  Pro Tip: Once you've linked your card it may take up to 30 minutes to sync, so remember to link this before you make a purchase with a participating partner to have the flexibility to Pay with Points soon after the purchase has been processed.

• Give me the details, how does Pay with Points work?

  To use Pay with Points, you will first need to link your eligible active Australian issued Visa credit or debit card within the Velocity App. Linking your card is simple, just follow the prompts to ‘Link a Card’. 

  You’ll be asked to enter your 16-digit card number (also known as the Primary Account Number or PAN). The card must be in the same name as the Velocity member redeeming the Velocity Points. Follow the prompts within the Velocity App to view your eligible transactions, where you’ll see the purchase amount and the equivalent value in Velocity Points. Pay with Points on the full or partial amount of the eligible transaction, as long as you have enough Velocity Points to cover the minimum spend (minimum spend varies by partner).

  If you Pay with Points, we’ll deduct the amount of Velocity Points you choose from your Velocity account. The relevant portion of your eligible transaction amount will then be credited back to your linked Visa credit or debit card usually between 2 to 10 business days after you confirm to Pay with Points.

• What are the simple steps to use Pay with Points on Virgin Australia flights?

  Step 1 - Link

  Before you fly, get the Velocity App ready! Just open or download it, tap Pay with Points, and follow the steps to update your preferences and turn on notifications so you can be notified of eligible transactions. Lastly, link your eligible Visa credit or debit card. 

  Step 2 - Make a purchase onboard

  Simply use your linked Visa credit or debit card to purchase food or drink, and use your linked Visa credit card to pay for WiFi onboard, just as you normally would. 

  Step 3 - Pay with Points

  Soon after you land and your purchase has been processed, you’ll receive a notification from the Velocity App if it’s an eligible transaction and your notifications are switched on. Tap the notification or visit the Velocity App and choose the amount you would like to Pay with Points. You can Pay with Points on the full or partial amount of the eligible transaction, as long as you have enough Velocity Points to cover the minimum spend.   

  If you Pay with Points, we’ll deduct the amount of Velocity Points you choose from your Velocity account.   Step 1 - Link

  Open or download the Velocity App, tap Pay with Points, and follow the steps to update your preferences and turn on notifications so you can be notified of eligible transactions. Lastly, link your eligible Visa credit or debit card.

  You’ll need to use the same linked Visa card in the DiDi App. To view your payment methods - open or download the DiDi App and tap the menu icon in the top left corner. Then select “Payment” and enter the same eligible Visa credit or debit card details that you’ve linked in your Velocity App for Pay with Points.

  Step 2 - Book a ride with DiDi

  Looking to book a ride on Velocity Points? Simply book your next trip in Australia through the DiDi App! Ensure you select your Velocity linked Visa credit or debit card before confirming your ride.

  Step 3 - Pay with Points

  Soon after your DiDi trip is finished and your purchase has been processed, you’ll receive a notification from the Velocity App if it’s an eligible transaction and your notifications are switched on. Tap the notification or visit the Velocity App and choose the amount you would like to Pay with Points. You can Pay with Points on the full or partial amount of the eligible transaction, as long as you have enough Velocity Points to cover the minimum spend.

  If you Pay with Points, we’ll deduct the amount of Velocity Points you choose from your Velocity account. The relevant portion of your eligible transaction amount will then be credited back to your linked Visa credit or debit card usually between 2 to 10 business days after you confirm to Pay with Points.

  Step 1 - Link

  Open or download the Velocity App, tap Pay with Points, and follow the steps to update your preferences and turn on notifications so you can be notified of eligible transactions. Lastly, link your eligible Visa credit card (debit cards not accepted) to the Pay with Points section connected to your individual Velocity Frequent Flyer membership.

  Step 2 – Pay your business’ expenses with Yak Pay 

  Looking to cover your business expense using Velocity Points? Simply use your Velocity Pay with Points linked Visa credit card to process an eligible payment with Yak Pay, just as you normally would.

  Step 3 - Pay with Points 

  Soon after your purchase has been processed, you’ll receive a notification from the Velocity App if it’s an eligible transaction and your notifications are switched on. Tap the notification or visit the Velocity App and choose the amount you would like to Pay with Points. You can Pay with Points on the full or partial amount of the eligible transaction, as long as you have enough Velocity Points to cover the minimum spend.

  Looking to buy the next round on Velocity Points? Simply use your linked Visa credit or debit card to pay for your order using the me&u QR code located on your table at Participating Venues, just as you normally would.

  Step 3 - Pay with Points

  Soon after your purchase has been processed, you’ll receive a notification from the Velocity App if it’s an eligible transaction and your notifications are switched on. Tap the notification or visit the Velocity App and choose the amount you would like to Pay with Points. You can Pay with Points on the full or partial amount of the eligible transaction, as long as you have enough Velocity Points to cover the minimum spend.

• Will I still earn Points on my DiDi ride?

  If your Velocity membership account is linked to your DiDi account, Velocity members will earn Points for their eligible ride, subject to existing Terms and Conditions. If you paid for your ride using an eligible Visa credit or debit card that is also linked to Pay with Points in the Velocity App and it is an eligible ride, you’ll have the option to Pay with Points. If you Pay with Points, we’ll deduct the Velocity Points from your Velocity account. Your eligible transaction amount will then be credited back to your linked Visa credit or debit card usually between 2 to 10 business days after you confirm to Pay with Points.

• Who can use Pay with Points?

  Pay with Points can be used by active Velocity members who hold an eligible active Australian issued Visa credit or debit card. If your Velocity account is suspended or closed, you will not be able to use Pay with Points. 

• How do I link my Visa credit or debit card?

  Simply download, open and log into the Velocity App, then follow the Pay with Points ‘Link Card’ prompts.  

  If you don’t have an eligible Visa credit or debit card, you are currently unable to use Pay with Points. We are working to bring on other payment networks as soon as possible, watch this space. 

• Can I add or remove linked Visa credit or debit cards?

  Yes, you can link up to five (5) eligible Visa credit or debit cards at any one time. You can also remove linked cards any time via the Pay with Points Manage Cards page in the Velocity App. By removing all linked cards, you will no longer be able to use Pay with Points. • Are there cards that are not able to be linked?

  Currently only eligible active Australian issued Visa credit and debit cards are able to be linked via the Velocity App. We are working to bring on other payment networks as soon as possible. 

  Reloadable prepaid cards, such as gift cards and overseas issued payment cards are not eligible for Pay with Points. 

  Supplementary payment cards which use the same card number or Primary Account Number (PAN) can only be linked to one Velocity account. 

• What details from my payment card does Velocity collect?

  To use Pay with Points you need to link your eligible Visa credit or debit card via the Velocity App. You’ll be asked to enter your 16-digit card number or Primary Account Number (PAN). By doing this, and opting in to notifications, Velocity is able to send you eligible Pay with Points transactions each time you use your linked card to make an eligible purchase with one of our participating partners.

  The card number (or PAN) is the only detail required; we don’t request any further card information from you to use Pay with Points. 

  By linking a payment card, Velocity will collect information about the linked payment card and all eligible transactions made with participating Velocity partners using that linked payment card, even if you elect not to use Pay with Points for the eligible transaction. 

  Velocity will handle this personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.   

• Who are the participating Pay with Points partners?

  Pay with Points is currently available with the following partners. Please refer to the participating partner’s Pay with Points terms and conditions for further details. Over the coming months we’re working to add more partners to the Pay with Points program.

  • Food and Drinks onboard Virgin Australia

  • Onboard WiFi with Virgin Australia

• What is an eligible transaction?

  An eligible transaction is a payment transaction with a participating partner that meets all of the following criteria: 

  • the transaction was made with a participating Velocity partner that accepts Pay with Points;  

  • the transaction was made in Australian dollars (AUD); 

  • the payment card was successfully linked via the Velocity App prior to the transaction being made, was used for the transaction and remains linked when the Velocity member confirms the Pay with Points offer; 

  • the Velocity member had sufficient Velocity Points to redeem the minimum spend amount of with the participating partner, at the time the transaction was authorised by the member’s issuing bank or financial institution and at the time when the Velocity member confirmed the Pay with Points offer;

  • the Velocity member meets any specific terms and conditions from the participating Velocity partner, including minimum and maximum transaction limits; and 

  • the transaction was able to be tracked by Velocity’s Pay with Points supplier.

• How do I know if I’ve made an eligible transaction?

  To receive notifications about eligible transactions, you will need to be opted into the ‘Velocity exclusives, Pay with Points’ subscription preference in your Velocity account. You will also need to have notifications switched on in the Velocity App and your device settings.  

  You can also view your Pay with Points activity any time in the Velocity App. All eligible Pay with Points transactions will be displayed there. 

• How long do I have to redeem Points on an eligible transaction?

  Pay with Points offers presented to you for eligible transactions expire 7 days after the transaction is processed. This processing time can vary depending on the bank and network.  

  To ensure you never miss an opportunity to Pay with Points, we recommend you opt into the ‘Velocity exclusives, Pay with Points’ subscription preference in your Velocity account and have notifications switched on in the Velocity App and your device settings.  

  You can also view your Pay with Points activity anytime in the Velocity App. All eligible Pay with Points transactions will be displayed there. 

• Is the transaction amount automatically credited back to my linked card?

  Yes, if you have confirmed to Pay with Points on an eligible transaction, the transaction amount will be credited back to your linked card and the displayed amount of Velocity Points will be deducted from your Velocity account.  

  If you paid for part of the transaction amount with another form of payment, for example cash or gift card, provided the portion paid with your linked payment card meets the Pay with Points eligible transaction criteria, you will receive an offer to Pay with Points and if you confirm this offer, you will receive a credit back to your linked card for the amount paid with your linked card. 

• How long does it take to get credit back to my linked card?

  From the time you confirm your Pay with Points transaction, it usually takes between 2 - 10 business days for the credit to appear on the linked payment card account. In rare cases, it can take up to two (2) card statement billing cycles for the credit to appear on the linked payment card account. Please note, a confirmation to use Pay with Points and the redemption of Velocity Points cannot be reversed or refunded once completed.  

• My transaction is showing on my card activity statement however I can’t see an eligible transaction in the Velocity App?

  Some transactions take up to 5 days to process, so on occasion there may be a delay in receiving the Pay with Points eligible transaction.  

  If your transaction doesn’t appear within the Velocity App, it could mean you don’t have enough Velocity Points in your Velocity account to cover the purchase amount or the transaction didn’t meet the eligible transaction criteria. For more information on eligible transaction criteria, please refer to the Pay with Points T&Cs. 

  Provided it is an eligible transaction and you have your notifications switched on in the Velocity App and your device settings and you are also opted into the ‘Velocity exclusives, Pay with Points’ subscription preference in your Velocity account, you will receive a notification when the transaction is processed, and you are eligible to use Pay with Points. 

• How do I calculate how many Points I need for my purchase?

  The number of Velocity Points required to Pay with Points will appear below the eligible transaction in the Velocity App. You can check your Velocity Points balance any time via the Velocity App.  

  To receive eligible Pay with Points transactions, you will need enough Velocity Points in your Velocity account to cover the purchase amount with a participating partner. 

• Can I choose when to use Pay with Points?

  Absolutely, it's entirely up to you when you use Pay with Points. If you receive a notification regarding an eligible transaction and would prefer not to Pay with Points, you can simply ignore it.  

• Can I earn and redeem in the same transaction?

  Pay with Points is currently available onboard selected Virgin Australia operated flights for food and drinks purchases. Currently, you are unable to earn Velocity Points for these purchases with Virgin Australia.  

  For members who have a Velocity Points direct earning credit card with a Visa logo, simply link your card via the Velocity App before you fly. Use this same linked card to purchase food and drinks onboard selected Virgin Australia operated flights, and you can earn Velocity Points for the purchase amount on your Velocity Points direct earning credit card just as you do today. (subject to your card’s T&Cs).  

  Provided the onboard purchase with the linked card meets the Pay with Points eligible transaction criteria, you will be able to use Pay with Points for this same transaction. Soon after you land, you will receive a notification from the Velocity App, tap the notification or visit the Velocity App to choose Pay with Points. 

• What if I don’t have enough Points?

  Unfortunately, if you don’t have enough Velocity Points in your Velocity account to redeem at least the minimum spend for the participating partner you’ve transacted with, your transaction will not be eligible for Pay with Points, even if you use your linked card to make a purchase with a participating partner and it meets the other eligible transaction criteria.

• Is there a minimum spend per transaction?

  Yes, there are varying minimum spend requirements for each participating partner. Please refer to the participating partner’s Pay with Points terms and conditions.

• Is there a maximum spend per transaction?

  .Yes, there are varying maximum spend requirements for each participating partner. Please refer to the participating partner’s Pay with Points terms and conditions.

• When are my Points deducted from my Velocity account?

  Once you’ve confirmed to Pay with Points, Velocity Points will automatically be deducted from your Velocity account and your Velocity Points balance will be updated accordingly. You can view your available Velocity Points balance any time via the Velocity App.  

• What happens if I decide to refund my purchase with the participating partner, are my Points refunded?

  Velocity will not reverse or refund any Velocity Points redeemed for any confirmed Pay with Points transaction, including when a refund has been processed (in whole or in part) by the participating partner.  

  Please contact the participating partner for any refunds, returns or product or service enquiries or concerns. Cash refunds will be processed by the Velocity partner in accordance with their refund policy. 

• Why does the eligible Pay with Points transaction amount differ to the amount I paid?

  This could be because you chose to pay for some of the purchase amount with another form of payment, for example, cash or gift card. Provided the portion paid with your linked payment card meets the Pay with Points eligible transaction criteria, you will have the opportunity to Pay with Points on that amount.   

• Are there any tax implications when using Pay with Points?

  Velocity is not responsible for, and we make no representations about any tax liability in connection with you participating in the Pay with Points offer. You’re solely responsible for all taxes, GST, duties, levies, fees, charges or other liabilities (Taxes) in connection with your participation in connection with the Pay with Points offer including the use of Velocity Points and the credit back to your eligible linked payment card account. You should seek advice from your professional accountant or tax adviser to ensure you understand any possible Taxes related to your participation in Velocity and the Pay with Points offer. 

• Can I use Pay with Points for international purchases?

  No, Pay with Points is only available for purchases in Australian Dollars (AUD) that are made with an active Australian issued eligible Visa credit or debit card. 

• What happens if my payment card is suspended or cancelled after linking it?

  If your payment card is suspended or cancelled after linking, you unfortunately will not be able to use Pay with Points with that payment card. 

  If your card is suspended or cancelled after you have received an eligible transaction notification, you will be able to redeem your Points for that purchase, however the money may not be able to be credited back to your linked card. Please contact your payment card provider to discuss the status of your card account. 

• Can I use Pay with Points if I have Family Pooling enabled?

  Yes, both Beneficiary and Contributors of a Family Pool can use Pay with Points provided they have linked their eligible Visa credit or debit card and their respective Velocity account has enough Velocity Points to cover the purchase amount of the eligible transaction. 

• Can I pay for part of the eligible transaction with Velocity Points?

  Yes, provided the purchase meets the eligible transaction criteria for the participating partner (including that you have enough Points to meet the minimum spend requirement), you will be presented the opportunity to redeem Points up to the amount paid with the linked card for which you have sufficient Points in your Points balance, and subject to the maximum spend for the participating partner). You can change or reduce the number of Points you wish to redeem (in turn changing the value of the credit you will receive to your linked card), as long as the changes made do not fall below the minimum spend required for the participating partner and subject to the Points available in your Points balance.

• What happens if my push notification fails or I don't receive it?

  If you know you have made a purchase with a participating partner that meets the Pay with Points eligible transaction criteria but did not receive a push notification, don’t worry, you can check for eligible Pay with Points transactions any time via the Velocity App. Follow the prompts to the Pay with Points page. 

  To ensure you don’t miss the opportunity to receive Pay with Points notifications, you will need to opt in to the ‘Velocity exclusives, Pay with Points’ subscription preference in your Velocity account and have notifications switched on in the Velocity App and your device settings.  

• What happens if I link my card but don’t use Pay with Points?

  If the linked card has been inactive, meaning it has not been used for an eligible Pay with Points transaction, for 6 or more months, the linked card may be automatically de-linked from Pay with Points. De-linked or removed payment cards cannot be used to Pay with Points, but they can be re-linked any time via the Velocity App. 

• I confirmed my Pay with Points transaction within 7 days but still haven’t received the credit to my linked card, what do I do?

  It usually takes 2-10 business days after you confirm your Pay with Points transaction for the credit to show on your linked card statement. In rare cases, it can take up to two card statement billing cycles for the credit to appear on the linked payment card account. If you have waited and you have still not received the credit back to your linked card, please contact your payment card provider.  

• I have a Velocity Points earning credit card, can I use this card for Pay with Points?

  For members who have a Velocity Points direct earning credit card with a Visa logo, simply link your card via the Velocity App. Use this same linked card to shop with eligible partners, and you will earn Velocity Points for the purchase amount on your Velocity Points direct earning credit card just as you do today (subject to your card’s T&Cs). 

  Provided the purchase with the linked card meets the Pay with Points eligible transaction criteria, you will be able to use Pay with Points for this same transaction. Soon after your transaction is processed, you will receive a notification from the Velocity App if your notifications are switched on in the Velocity App and personal device settings and if it is an eligible transaction. Tap the notification or visit the Velocity App to choose to Pay with Points.

• Will I still earn Velocity Points on my business expenses through Yak Pay when I use Pay with Points?

  If you pay for your eligible business expenses through Yak Pay and have linked an individual Velocity membership within the Yak Pay portal, then you can earn Velocity Points, subject to the existing Velocity Frequent Flyer and Yak Pay terms and conditions. 

• Can I earn Velocity Points and use Pay with Points on a single transaction with me&u? 

  To earn Velocity Points when ordering through me&u, simply link your Velocity membership to your me&u account by entering your first name, last name, and valid Velocity Frequent Flyer  number.  Linking can be done anytime whether you’re in a Participating Venue by scanning the QR code at your table, or outside a Participating Venue through the linking web form.   

  Once you have successfully linked your Velocity account to your me&u account, you will earn Velocity Points on eligible orders made through me&u  at Participating Venues. You can find a list of  Participating Venues here.

  Where you have paid for your eligible order at a Participating Venue using an eligible Visa credit or debit card that is also linked to Pay with Points in the Velocity App, and you have switched on your notifications to be notified of eligible transactions, you’ll receive a notification from the Velocity App that you have an eligible transaction and will have the option to choose Pay with Points. If you Pay with Points, we’ll deduct the amount of Velocity Points you choose from your Velocity account. The relevant portion of your eligible order amount will then be credited back to your linked Visa credit or debit card usually between 2 to 10 business days after you confirm to Pay with Points.
