Changes to the Velocity Frequent Flyer Program

Velocity will be increasing carrier charges as detailed below to cover increased operating costs.

As a Velocity member, you can redeem your Points for flights to around 600 destinations worldwide, and we are committed to continually providing a competitive and compelling offering for our members.

The increased carrier charges will be effective for bookings made on or after 8 January 2020, on Virgin Australia operated flights.

The carrier charge can be paid with Velocity Points or a combination of Velocity Points and cash and will be applied during the booking process#.

 

Terms & Conditions

To earn and redeem Velocity Points you must be a Velocity member. Velocity membership and Points earn and redemption are subject to the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions.

# A Virgin Australia carrier charge is payable per sector, per person. The carrier charge must be paid at the time of booking and may be paid in Points or by debit/credit card. All payments made by debit/credit card are subject to a payment surcharge. The total amount for taxes, fees and carrier charges must be paid using one payment method. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to Velocity Points redeemed and are not eligible for Points earn. See Velocity membership Terms and Conditions.

^ Carrier charge quoted exclusive of GST. The carrier charge will attract the 10% Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) an all-Domestic itinerary. GST is not payable on carrier charges for Australian Domestic flights as part of international bookings.
