Frequently asked questions

Every time your business makes a payment through RewardPay you will be asked if you would like to earn Velocity Points. When making an eligible payment, customers can select from the available Velocity Points earn rate options depending on the method of payment.

For eligible payments made by American Express, Visa or Mastercard credit card, Velocity Points will be earned at the following rates in addition to the credit card processing fee:

1 Velocity Point per $2 of Eligible spend (with a RewardPay processing fee of 0.99% plus GST)
1 Velocity Point per $1 of Eligible spend (with a RewardPay processing fee of 1.80% plus GST)
2 Velocity Points per $1 Eligible spend (with a RewardPay processing fee of 3.60% plus GST)

For eligible payments made by bank payment, Velocity Points will be earned at the following rates:

1 Velocity Point per $4 of Eligible spend (with a RewardPay processing fee of 0.50% plus GST)
1 Velocity Point per $2 of Eligible spend (with a RewardPay processing fee of 0.99% plus GST)
1 Velocity Point per $1 of Eligible spend (with a RewardPay processing fee of 1.80% plus GST)

Velocity Points earned via bank payment or on top of any additional credit card reward points by your business will be allocated to your Virgin Australia Business Flyer Account weekly. A business must be a Virgin Australia Business Flyer Member to earn Velocity Points for the business.
Joining RewardPay is free, quick, easy and obligation free. Just click on the sign-up button at the top right of the homepage. You will need to add your ABN, business name, address, email and mobile number.
Any Australian business with an ABN.
No, your suppliers will not need to do anything. They will receive payment directly to their bank account as usual.
For EFT payments you will need your supplier's ABN, Bank Account Number and BSB, plus an EFT reference.

For BPAY you will need your supplier's BPAY Biller Code and BPAY customer reference number.
You can make payments to any Australian organisation with an active ABN, unless prohibited. See clause 15 of the RewardPay T&Cs for further information.

You may also make payments to employees who are created as “payroll” type payees.
If your payment is finalised on the RewardPay portal by 5pm AEST/AEDT on a business day, the payment will be paid out by RewardPay the next business day but may not appear in your supplier's or employee's account until the following business day. Please give yourself extra time if making a payment with a specific deadline i.e. ATO or Superannuation.
There are no set-up charges to use RewardPay. For American Express card payments, you will be charged 2.15% + GST for each individual transaction up to $20,000. This equates to 1.61% after tax. RewardPay offer discounts for larger individual payments. Please refer to the rates table on the Pay with RewardPay page of RewardPay's website. You will receive the Membership Rewards Points relating to your Amex card used. For Visa and Mastercard payments, you will be charged 1.25% + GST per transaction. This equates to 0.94% after tax. RewardPay does not provide tax advice. Please consult your accountant for tax advice.
Yes, you can add organisations and switch between organisations you have setup in the RewardPay portal.
Click on the menu in the top right corner of the portal. Under settings, go to the Organisation tab and select Add Organisation.

The RewardPay platform is subject to the RewardPay Terms and Conditions. A business must be a Virgin Australia Business Flyer Member to earn Velocity Points for their business. Membership and Velocity Points are subject to Virgin Australia Business Flyer Terms and Conditions and Velocity Frequent Flyer Terms & Conditions.

RewardPay customers who have linked their Virgin Australia Business Flyer account to their RewardPay account can earn Velocity Points for their business on eligible payments, including supplier, contractor, rent, superannuation and eligible government payments, including payments to the Australian Taxation Office and State Revenue Offices. Points are earned only on the eligible spend component of these payments, where the total amount payable (including the applicable RewardPay processing fee) has been paid in full. Eligible spend excludes any RewardPay processing fee, GST, value added tax, sales tax or similar taxes, card surcharge, merchant service fee, payment processing fee or similar fee or charge, or any amount that is refunded, reversed, charged back, credited, dishonoured or otherwise reimbursed.

When making an eligible payment, customers can select from the available processing fee and Velocity Points earn rate options depending on the method of payment.

Velocity Points will be awarded to the nominated Virgin Australia Business Flyer account which is linked to the relevant RewardPay account at the time of the applicable earn activity. Velocity Points will be credited to the Member’s Virgin Australia Business Flyer Account within one week of an eligible payment being processed. Businesses must ensure the ABN registered with Virgin Australia Business Flyer is saved in the RewardPay customer profile in order to earn Velocity Points.

The RewardPay payment platform is provided by RewardPay (ABN 92 166 007 227).

1. Earning Points with Virgin Australia Business Flyer: Virgin Australia Business Flyer Members can earn up to 1,000,000 Points from completed travel on eligible flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia or marketed by Virgin Australia and operated by eligible airline partners, per annum, based on the rolling 12 month period from when the Member joins Virgin Australia Business Flyer. Points aren’t earned on certain fees, taxes, or charges.  Virgin Australia Business Flyer Terms and Conditions  apply.

2. United Airlines Business Discounts (UA Business Discounts): As at 1 November 2023, the following discounts apply to the United Airlines and Virgin Australia base fares (which excludes fees, carrier charges and taxes) of Virgin Australia marketed and United Airlines operated flights (with a VA flight number) booked by Virgin Australia Business Flyer members (Members), which may change without notice:

Business Fares:
VA Fare Class J, C and D: 10%

Economy Fares:
VA Fare Classes Y, B, W, H, K and L: 10%
VA Fare Classes R and E: 5%
VA Fare Classes O, N, V, P, Q, T, I and S: 0%

UA Business Discounts can only be booked through the Booking Portal, our Guest Contact Centre, or a registered Travel Management Company (TMC) or travel agent and are not available through the public Virgin Australia website. Thrifty Car Hire Discount: Virgin Australia Business Flyer members will receive the following benefit from Thrifty on all bookings made via the Thrifty booking portal within the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Rewards Portal or the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Booking Portal: a discount of 15-18% off the best base rate of the day on www.Thrifty.com.au (that is, the rates on the Thrifty booking portal accessed via the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Rewards Portal or the Virgin Australia Business Flyer Booking Portal).

5. Points Transfer: Virgin Australia Business Flyer Account Administrators can transfer Points earned by the Virgin Australia Business Flyer member to a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, provided that (a) there is a minimum of 100 Points per transfer; and (b) the Velocity Frequent Flyer member transferee is directly employed or contracted by the Virgin Australia Business Flyer member.

6. Pilot Gold: A new Virgin Australia Business Flyer member is eligible to receive two three-month Velocity Pilot Gold Memberships if, within the first three months of becoming a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member, they book and complete at least $2,000 of eligible travel (excluding taxes, fees and charges). As a Pilot Gold member you will receive all Velocity Gold benefits, except for the following: a physical membership card, luggage tags, complimentary partner memberships, or the ability to access a membership Pause for parental leave.
