Conditions of Entry

1. Information on how to enter this Promotion, mechanics of entry and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Entry into this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry by each Entrant.

2. The Promotion commences at 12:01am AEDT on 1 February 2017 and ends at 11:59pm AEDT on 28 February 2017 (“Promotion Period”).

3. Entry is open to Velocity Frequent Flyer Members (“Entrant”) aged 18 years and above, residing in Australia. Entrants will automatically be entered into the promotion when Velocity Points are credited to the Member’s Velocity Account during the Promotion Period by the following methods:
  • a. Velocity Points earned from a Velocity Global Wallet® Prepaid Visa card.
  • b. Velocity Points earned from a Velocity co-branded or direct earning credit card.
  • c. Card Partner reward points transferred to Velocity Frequent Flyer membership from an eligible credit or charge card Partner program.
  • d. flybuys points transferred to Velocity Points, excluding Flybuys New Zealand.

Each Velocity Point credited to your account is equal to one entry into the Promotion. To check if Points have been credited to your account, log in to your Velocity Account and refer to the processed date on your account activity.

4. Velocity Global Wallet® Prepaid Visa card: Velocity Rewards Pty Ltd ACN 116 089 448 acts as authorised representative of Rêv Australia Pty Ltd ACN 117 378 953 AFSL 401610. Rêv Australia Pty Ltd is the distributor and manages the Velocity Global Wallet® prepaid Visa product for Cuscal Ltd ACN 087 822 455 AFSL 244116. Cuscal Ltd is the issuer of the product. Any advice is general advice that does not take account of your objectives, financial situation or needs. Read the Global Wallet® Product Disclosure Statement at velocityglobalwallet.com before making a decision and consider whether the product is right for you. 7. The Promoter is Velocity Frequent Flyer Pty Ltd (ACN 601 408 824) of registered address 56 Edmondstone Road, Bowen Hills, Queensland 4006.

8. The directors, officers, management and employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, Singapore Airlines and both their related bodies corporate are not eligible to enter this Promotion.

9. There is no limit of entries per person for the duration of the Promotion Period.

10. An entry into the Promotion is generated and deemed accepted as at the time and date that the Points appear as processed in the Member’s Velocity Account within the Promotional period through eligible spend or transferring Card Partner reward points. Please refer to your individual card issuer for details on what is deemed eligible spend The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction or otherwise including those entries not received by the Promoter.

11. For Global Wallet and co-branded or direct earning cardholders, the number of Points credited to your Velocity Account during the Promotion Period will depend on the statement cycle of your card. Typically, Points are transferred to your Velocity Account within 3 days after the close of the statement cycle

12. For Card Partner credit and charge cardholders, minimum points transfers are required. Points transfers are available to Velocity members only and with participating Card Partners only. View Terms and Conditions for full details on points’ transfers, including minimum points transfer requirements, applicable conversion rate and Card Partner Terms and Conditions. The earning and redemption of Card Partner points is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Card Partner reward program. Once Card Partner points have been redeemed for Velocity Points, they are governed by the Velocity Membership Terms and Conditions and cannot be reversed. Transferred Points will be available in your Velocity Account subject to the Partner Points transfer timeframes

13. For flybuys members, to transfer flybuys points to Velocity Points a member of the flybuys household must link to a Velocity Frequent Flyer membership. Linked households may transfer a minimum of 2,000 flybuys points (equivalent to 870 Velocity Frequent Flyer Points, a transfer rate of 2.3 flybuys points for 1 Velocity Frequent Flyer Point) per redemption and a maximum of 138,000 flybuys points (equivalent to 60,030 Velocity Frequent Flyer Points) for Velocity Frequent Flyer Points per household, per calendar year. flybuys points can only be transferred in increments of 2,000. flybuys points transferred for Velocity Frequent Flyer Points will be credited to the linked Velocity account. Velocity membership and Points earn and redemption are subject to the member Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time.

14. If you have received entry into this Promotion but no longer wish to participate, please email optout.february2017competition@velocityfrequentflyer.com and you will be removed from the Promotion.

15. The draw will be conducted weekly at Handling Matters, 1/3 Green Street, Brookvale, NSW, 2100 as follows:
  • a. 3.00 pm AEDT Monday 13 February.
  • b. 3.00 pm AEDT Monday 20 February.
  • c. 3.00 pm AEDT Monday 27 February.
  • d. 3.00 pm AEDT Monday 6 March.

16. The Promoter will attempt to contact the winners following each draw directly by phone and/or the email address associated with the Velocity Frequent Flyer Number provided by the Entrant at the time of Entry.

17. 1. The name and state of the winners will be published on https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/following each weekly draw on:
  • a. Tuesday 14 February.
  • b. Tuesday 21 February.
  • c. Tuesday 28 February.
  • d. Tuesday 7 March.
18. If the prize winner cannot be contacted via phone or email within 4 weeks of prize draw, a redraw will be conducted. If required, the redraw will be conducted at Handling Matters, 1/3 Green Street, Brookvale, NSW, 2100 as follows:
  • a. 3.00 pm AEST Monday 14 May.
  • b. 3.00 pm AEST Monday 21 May.
  • c. 3.00 pm AEST Monday 28 May.
  • d. 3.00 pm AEST Monday 4 June.
19. A redrawn winner will be notified by phone within 3 days of the draw, and in writing within 3 days of draw. The name and state of the re-draw Winner will be published on https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/on: :
  • a. Tuesday 15 May.
  • b. Tuesday 22 May.
  • c. Tuesday 29 May.
  • d. Tuesday 5 June.

20. Entries not fully complying with these Conditions of Entry may be deemed invalid at the Promoter’s discretion. If a winning entry is deemed not to comply with these Conditions of Entry, the entry will be discarded and the relevant prize will be re-awarded in accordance with the relevant clause of these Conditions of Entry as if the discarded entry had not been received.

21. All decisions of the Promoter are final and no discussions or correspondence will be entered into.

22. This is a game of chance and skill plays no part in determining the outcome.

23. There are 28 prizes to be won. Each prize consists of 2 x return Business Class tickets with Singapore Airlines, departing from Australia to anywhere on the Singapore Airlines network. Each person can only win one prize from the competition. The following conditions will apply to all prizes:
  • a. All travel must be on Singapore Airlines operated flights with a SQ flight number only and travel must originate in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra or Perth. Travel must be completed by 28 February 2018. Bookings must be finalised and ticketed by 30 June 2017 and at least 28 days prior to departure, and are subject to availability and confirmation at the time of request. The Winner and their nominated travel companion must be booked in the same record and travel together on all flight sectors.
  • b. The Promoter will provide prize winner contact details to Singapore Airlines’ Marketing Department in Sydney as redemption of the prize must be done through this office only.
  • c. Tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable and non-redeemable for cash. Ticket changes are permitted subject to applicable fare rules but the prize winner will be liable for any additional payments which may include payment of the fare difference and/or a change fee. Refunds as a result of a ticket change are not permitted. Any tickets which remain unused after expiration date shall be deemed null and void. Extensions are not permitted.
  • d. It is the Winner’s responsibility to ensure that they have requisite visas, vaccinations, valid documentation (including but not limited to valid passports and visas) which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the Winner.
  • e. The recipient of this prize is responsible for all, travel costs to and from the point of departure, accommodation, spending money, travel insurance, freight, excess baggage, meals, insurance surcharges, ground transportation and any other expenses not associated with the ticket.
  • f. The Promoter makes no representations as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination or as part of the prize.
  • g. The Winner will be eligible for Status Credits, Velocity Frequent Flyer Points or KrisFlyer miles or Elite miles as part of the prize.
  • h. Total prize value is AU$490,980 or AU$17,535 per pair of tickets. The prize is not exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  • i. The prize will be awarded to the Primary Cardholder named in the entry, plus one nominated guest.

24. The prize will be awarded to the Entrant named on the entry. Should an Entrant’s contact details change during the Promotion Period, it is the Entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to the Promoter.

25. The Promoter is not liable for any variation in the prize value.

26. Flights are subject to Singapore Airlines conditions of carriage which are located on the Singapore Airlines website and can be found at www.singaporeair.com.

27. By accepting the prize, Winners agree to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed. Winners will not be entitled to any fee for participating in these activities.

28. The Promoter may want a Winner to participate in promotional activity after the Promotion has ended. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to a Winner, the Winner permits the Winner’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the Winner’s participation in the prize to appear in any media whatsoever throughout the world for an unlimited period and the Winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

29. The Promoter reserves the right to request that a Winner provides proof of identity, proof of age, proof of residency and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency, age and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a Winner cannot provide suitable proof, the Winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

30. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which in the opinion of the Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any Entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a Winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the Winner and/or the Winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause. Any Entrant disqualified under this clause is prohibited from any further participation in the Promotion.

31. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Promotion on the dates and in the manner described in these Conditions of Entry, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Promotion and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.

32. If for any reason this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.

33. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Promotion and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act 2001 (Cth) in Australia, or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”).

34. The Promoter, its associated agencies and companies (and their respective officers, employees and agents) exclude all liability (including negligence) except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, for any direct, indirect or consequential injury, loss and/or damage arising in any way in connection with this Promotion or any prize/s. This includes, but is not limited to: (i) technical malfunctions, delays or failures, including those resulting from accessing any materials related to this promotion and any incorrect or inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of, or in connection with, this Promotion as a result of any technical malfunctions, delays or failures; (ii) theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (iii) lost or damaged entries, prize claims or prizes;(iv) acceptance and/or use of any prize (including but not limited to any component of a Winner’s trip); and (v) personal injury sustained in connection with the prize.

35. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Conditions of Entry, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of this Promotion. Any Entrant disqualified under this clause is prohibited from any further participation in the Promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

36. The Promoter and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, internet failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or, alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.

37. The Promoter is not liable for any tax implications arising from prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.

38. The Promoter is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) including the Australian Privacy Principles. The information entrants provide will be collected for the purpose of conducting this Competition and managed in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.  Entry into competitions run by the Promoter is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may also disclose Entrants’ personal information to its related companies and third parties who provide (or help Velocity Frequent Flyer provide) products and services, including Singapore Airlines, some of whom may be located overseas. The Promoter may disclose your personal information to persons or organisations located in Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, The Philippines, Turkey, United States of America and UK. The Promoter’s Privacy Policy also explains how an Entrant can seek to access or correct any personal information the Promoter holds about the Entrant, how to complain about a privacy breach by the Promoter and how the Promoter will deal with a privacy complaint. 39. Entrant’s personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and Winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.

40. To earn and redeem Velocity Points you must be a Velocity member. Velocity membership and Points earn and redemption are subject to the Member Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time.
