Changes to the Velocity Frequent Flyer Program
- Reduction of the lead-in Points required for a Virgin Australia Reward Seat to 5,900 Velocity Points.
- The release of more than 1 million additional Reward Seats available to book from today until 10 October 2024, for selected travel dates2
- Velocity members will earn 4 Velocity Points per $1 spent on eligible Virgin Australia flights booked from 2 April 2025. Eligible Velocity Direct Earn Credit Card holders will earn 5 Points per $1 spent.
- Platinum Re, Gold and Silver members will continue to earn a Velocity Points bonus in addition to the base Velocity Points earned on these eligible Virgin Australia flights (excluding Economy Lite fares).
- From 2 April 2025, there will be changes to the way members earn Status Credits on eligible Virgin Australia flights, by awarding Status Credits based on the total fare price.
- Members will earn 1 Status Credit per $12 AUD spent on Choice, Flex and Business Fares, or 1 Status Credit per $24 AUD on Lite Fares.
- On the 25 September 2025, Velocity will introduce two new Status memberships, including Forever Gold Status and Platinum Plus
- A simpler way to earn Status Credits, with the removal of eligible sectors.
- Adjustme nts to International partner airline Reward Seat pricing.
- Change s to existing Gold and Platinum member benefits, including:
- Guaranteed Economy Reward Seat (GERS) benefit will be removed from the Gold Status membership
- Companion Platinum Status will be removed from the Platinum Status membership, our invitation only tier, and Beyond (and introduced as an exclusive benefit for the Platinum Plus membership only). Refer to our website for eligibility on gifting Companion Gold for Platinum members.
- In addition to the program changes, Velocity will also be making changes to the Velocity Membership Terms and Conditions.
