Earn Status Credits with world-class airlines

Status Credits are used to determine your level of membership within the Velocity program.

As a Velocity member you will earn Status Credits whenever you fly on eligible fares with Virgin Australia and our network of airline partners, including Air New Zealand, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Samoa, Virgin America, and Hawaiian Airlines.

You can also earn Status Credits on eligible Any Seat redemptions when travelling with Virgin Australia, and on fares flown as part of Virgin Australia Holidays packages.

Discover our three levels of membership

Velocity has three levels of membership above our Red entry level, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The higher your level of membership, the greater benefits you will receive.

View your Status Credit balance

Your Status Credit balance is calculated daily, based on the number of Status Credits you have earned in the previous 12 months. Every Status Credit you earn is valid for 12 months, which means your Status Credit balance will not be reset to zero at your Review Date.

To view your current Status Credit balance, log in to your Velocity Account.

Upgrade to the next level of membership

We assess memberships on a daily basis, to determine whether you are eligible for an upgrade.

You will be automatically upgraded to the next level of membership as soon as your Status Credit and Eligible Sector balances reach the required number to upgrade. Once you upgrade to the next level of membership, you will enjoy your new benefits for a period of 12 months.

Maintain your level of membership

Once you upgrade to a higher level of membership, you will have 12 months, from the day of your upgrade to your new Review Date, to achieve the required number of Status Credits and Eligible Sectors to maintain your membership.

The table below shows the number of Status Credits and Eligible Sectors you need to earn within your 12 month benefit period to maintain your membership:

If you do not earn the required number of Status Credits or travel the required Eligible Sectors, you will move down a level of membership.

Remember, your Status Credits and Eligible Sectors are valid for 12 months from the date they are earned, so with our daily status review, you could quickly upgrade if you reach the required number of Status Credits and Eligible Sectors.
