    To Pay with Points you will need to set-up a Velocity PIN. Your BP in-store redemption option will be set at $10.

  2. Swipe and Redeem

    Swipe your Velocity membership card before you pay. If you have enough Velocity Points and the value of your eligible* purchase is at least the value of your BP in-store redemption option, you’ll be given the option to Pay with Points.

  3. Manage Pay with Points

    You can change or update your BP in-store redemption option at any time for a value between $10 and $60. For example 1,667 Velocity Points will save you $10 next time you visit BP.

  • How do I register my temporary card?
    If you are new to Velocity, simply join and register your BP temporary card. If you are already a Velocity member, register and link your BP temporary card.
  • How many Velocity Points will I earn?
    For each Eligible Purchase, 2 Velocity Points will be earned:
    1. for every 1 litre of fuel purchased (excluding pre-packaged fuel products), up to a maximum of 150 litres, per transaction

    2. for each $1 spent on in store purchases, car services and car repairs, up to a maximum spend of $100, per transaction

  • I forgot to swipe my Velocity membership card or BP temporary card at BP, can I claim the Points?
    If you didn’t swipe your Velocity membership card or a BP temporary card at the time of purchase, you will not earn Points for that purchase. Next time, remember to swipe your Velocity membership card or BP temporary card to earn Points at participating BP service stations
  • Once I join Velocity, how long until my membership card arrives?
    You will receive your Velocity membership card within 3 weeks. In the meantime, to continue earning Points at participating BP service stations, simply swipe your registered BP temporary card. If you haven’t received your new Velocity membership card within 3 weeks, contact us for further assistance.
  • How long do I have to register my BP temporary card?
    You have 30 days to register your BP temporary card from first use.
  • I am a Velocity member but I have misplaced my membership card, can I still earn Points at BP?
    Yes, simply pick up a BP temporary card in-store and register and link it to your Velocity Account To order a replacement membership card contact us. You will receive your Velocity membership card within 3 weeks of ordering. In the meantime, continue earning Points with your registered BP temporary card until your replacement membership card arrives.
  • I have misplaced my BP temporary card, can I register it?
    Your BP temporary card number will be shown on the bottom of your receipt. You can use this number to register your BP temporary card within 30 days from first use. Any Points earned prior to registration will appear in your Velocity Account within 72 hours. You cannot register a BP temporary card to your Velocity Account without the BP temporary card number. Next time you visit a participating BP service station, swipe your Velocity membership card or pick up a new BP temporary card in store to continue earning Points. .
  • Where else can I use my BP temporary card?
    Your BP temporary card can only be used at participating BP service stations. Find your nearest participating BP service station.
  • My BP temporary card has expired after I registered it. What can I do?
    BP temporary cards expire. Please use your Velocity membership card next time you visit a participating BP service station. If you have misplaced your Velocity membership card, order a replacement. Contact us for further assistance.
  • I was unable to register my BP temporary card. What can I do?
    BP temporary cards must be registered within 30 days from first use. Please contact us for further assistance.
  • Can I use my Velocity membership card or BP temporary card at BP service stations outside of Australia?
    No. You can only use your BP temporary card or Velocity membership card at participating BP service stations within Australia. Find your nearest participating BP service stations.
  • Can I pool my Points earned at BP?

  • I'm not sure if I'm already a Velocity member. How can I check?
    Please visit the Velocity website and select ‘Forgot Member Number’ under the login panel, or alternatively call the Membership Contact Centre on 13 18 75 who can further assist you.
  • What forms of payments are accepted to earn Points?
    Customers have the option to pay with cash, or a credit/debit card including MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diners, or a BP Gift card. You will not be eligible to earn Points when using BP Plus Cards, Motor Pass Cards, Motor Charge Cards, Fleet Cards, Distributor / Reseller Fuel Cards or other B2B products as advised by BP from time to time.     You can earn Points on all fuel products and the majority of items available in store at participating BP service stations. There are some exceptions which include, but are not limited to:

    Yes. If you use a Velocity co-branded credit card to make your eligible purchase at participating BP service stations, you will earn Points twice – once on your card, and again with BP. You must swipe your Velocity membership card or BP temporary card prior to making a payment with your Velocity co-branded credit card for this to happen.   • Can I use my Velocity Global Wallet® card to earn Points in-store?
    Yes, simply swipe your Velocity Global Wallet® card before you pay in-store at a participating BP Service Station. In order to use your Velocity Global Wallet® card as a form of payment and earn Points you must ensure you first swipe the Velocity Frequent Flyer side of your dual sided card to earn Points with BP, and then insert the Global Wallet® side of your card to earn Points per dollar spent.
  • Can I use my BP Plus card to earn Velocity Points?

Paying with Points at BP

  • What do I need to do to redeem my Velocity Points at BP?
    You need to have an active Velocity account with a Velocity PIN in order to redeem your Points at BP. You will be automatically opted in to a BP in-store redemption option of $10 which can be updated at any time by logging in to your Velocity account and selecting ‘Pay with Points In-Store’. When you next fill up or shop at BP, simply swipe your Velocity membership card at the counter before you pay. If you have reached the dollar value of your selected BP in-store redemption option on eligible products, and have sufficient Points available in your account, an offer to redeem your Velocity Points will be presented on the BP PinPad. Should you wish to redeem your Velocity Points, simply select accept and enter your Velocity PIN.
  • How many Velocity Points can I redeem at BP?
    The BP in-store redemption option ranges from $10 and $60. To manage your BP in-store redemption option, simply log in to your Velocity account.
  • Will I earn Points on my BP transaction if I have redeemed Points?
    Yes. Velocity members will earn Points when purchasing eligible products at BP, including when Velocity Points have been redeemed.
    Velocity members earn 2 Points for every 1 litre of fuel purchased to a maximum of 150 litres per transaction at participating BP service stations.
    Members also earn 2 Velocity Points per $1 spent on eligible BP in-store purchases, car services and car repairs up to a maximum of $100 per transaction.

  • Will the Points I earn from my transaction be available to redeem straight away?
    No they won’t. It can take up to 72 hours for any Points that will be earned on your transaction to be credited to your Velocity account, however Points are redeemed from your Velocity account in real-time. If you don’t have sufficient Points to redeem for your transaction then you will not be presented with the offer.
  • I have forgotten my PIN. How can I reset it?
    Simply visit the My Security page within your Velocity account to reset your Velocity PIN.
  • I have entered my PIN incorrectly 3 times and now my PIN is locked. How can I unlock it?
    Simply visit the My Security page within your Velocity account to unlock your Velocity PIN.
  • How do I change my Pay with Points In-Store Redemption Option?
    To change your BP in-store redemption option, simply log in to your Velocity account and select Pay with Points In-Store . Use the Points slider to select your preferred in-store redemption option.
  • How do I set up my Velocity account so that I can redeem Points at BP?
    To ensure you can redeem your Points at BP, please log in to your Velocity account and set up your Velocity PIN. Once your PIN has been set, you will be automatically opted in to a BP in-store redemption option of $10. If you would like to change this amount, simply select ‘Pay with Points In-Store’ and use the Points slider to select your preferred in-store redemption option.
  • How do I deactivate redeeming Points at BP?
    If you would like to permanently remove the option of redeeming your Points at BP, simply log in to your Velocity account, select ‘Pay with Points In-Store’ and select ‘Deactivate’
  • If I don’t want to redeem my Points for a particular transaction, how do I reject the offer on the pin pad?
    When you swipe your Velocity card at the BP Pin Pad, you will be presented with the option to Pay with Points. If you don’t want to accept for that transaction, simply select the ‘CLR’ button and proceed with an alternative form of payment.
  • The pin pad did not offer me the option to redeem my Velocity Points. Why?

    There are a number of reasons why you may not have been offered the option to redeem your Points. These include:

    - You are using a BP Temporary card

    - You do not have a Velocity PIN

    - Your Velocity PIN may be locked

    - You may not have enough Points for the transaction

    - The amount you are purchasing may be less than your selected Pay with Points In-Store Redemption Option

    - You may have deactivated the option to Pay with Points In-Store

    - The BP site may not be a participating site

    You may be trying to redeem for ineligible products
  • I have set up my redemption offer and Velocity PIN online but I was not offered the option to redeem my Points in store. Why not?

    There are a number of reasons why you may not have been offered the option to redeem your Points. These include:

    - You are using a BP Temporary card

    - Your Velocity PIN may be locked

    - You may not have enough Points for the transaction

    - The amount you are purchasing may be less than your In-Store Redemption Option amount

    - You may have deactivated the option to Pay with Points In-Store

BP Partner Terms and Conditions

1. DEFINITIONS

Unless the context otherwise requires, in these BP Partner Terms the following terms shall apply. Capitalised terms not defined in this document will have the same meaning as in the Velocity Frequent Flyer Terms & Conditions of Membership:

“BP Earn Sites” means those sites which are not listed as Participating BP Service Stations and have the ability to allow Velocity members to earn Velocity Points.

“BP Temporary Card” means a plastic, paper or other form of card that permits a person to earn Velocity Points at Participating BP Service Stations.

"Eligible Purchase" means those transactions that do not use an Excluded Payment Method to purchase Eligible Products and Services at Participating BP Service Stations.

“Eligible Products and Services” are all products and services sold at Participating BP Service Stations that do not include Excluded Products and Services.

“Excluded Payment Method” means payments using fuel cards, including, BP Plus Cards, Motor Pass Cards, Motor Charge Cards, Fleet Cards, Distributor / Reseller Fuel Cards, On The Run App (“OTR App”) and any other payment methods as updated from time to time.

“Excluded Products and Services” means tobacco products, lottery products, prepaid mobile phone cards (including ePay), gift cards and other products and services as notified to members from time to time.

“Membership Card” means the Velocity Frequent Flyer membership card that is issued to members.

“Membership Account” refers to the record and details of Velocity Membership and activity including a Member’s Membership Number, Personal Information, Points balance, Status Credits and Eligible Sectors, and history of Points transactions for at least the previous twelve months. A Velocity member may setup a Velocity PIN for their Membership Account and elect to use a Pay With Points In-Store Redemption Option which forms part of their Membership Account.

“Participating BP Service Stations” means those BP branded service stations that are participating in the Velocity Frequent Flyer and BP partnership offering Velocity members the ability to both earn and redeem Velocity points at site and are listed at http://apps.nowwhere.com.au/bp/sitelocator?loyalty=t as updated from time to time.

“Pay With Points In-Store Redemption Option” mmeans the Velocity member’s ability to redeem Velocity Points at the point of sale at Participating BP Service Stations. The amount of Velocity Points (and equivalent dollar value) can be updated or changed by the Velocity member.

“Redemption Transaction” means a purchase of Redemption Products and Services by a Velocity member at a Participating BP Service Station that is paid for in full or in part by Velocity Points as set out in clause 3.

“Velocity PIN” refers to the 4-digit identification number entered by the Velocity member at the point of sale terminal at Participating BP Service Stations to allow the redemption of Velocity Points for Eligible Products and Services.

“Velocity Points” refers to the Points which may be earned and redeemed by Velocity members in accordance with the Velocity Terms and Conditions.

2. EARNING VELOCITY POINTS 

Velocity members can earn Velocity Points by swiping their Membership Card or BP Temporary Card at the point of sale at the time of an Eligible Purchase at Participating BP Service Stations. Non Velocity members can earn Velocity Points by swiping a BP Temporary Card at the point of sale at the time of an Eligible Purchase at Participating BP Service Stations and successfully registering the BP Temporary Card within 30 days of activation to their Velocity Membership Account.

For each Eligible Purchase, 2 Velocity Points will be earned:

  • (a) for every 1 litre of fuel purchased (excluding pre-packaged fuel products), up to a maximum of 150 litres, per transaction; or
  • (b) for each $1 spent on in store purchases, car services and car repairs, up to a maximum spend of $100, per transaction.

Velocity members are also eligible to earn Velocity Points on transactions where Velocity Points have been redeemed (provided all other conditions of clause 2 have been met).

Velocity Points earn rates shown are correct as at 16 April 2015 and are subject to change.

Velocity Points will not be earned on selected purchases, including but not limited to smoking/tobacco products and accessories, lottery tickets, prepaid mobile phone cards, gift cards, or for fuel or in store purchases paid for by Excluded Payment Methods.

Velocity Points also cannot be earned at BP service stations that are not Participating BP Service Stations.

All Eligible Purchases will be rounded up/down to the nearest whole litre or whole dollar amount for the purposes of awarding Velocity Points.

Velocity members should allow up to 72 hours for:

  • (a) Velocity Points to appear in their Membership Account after a BP Temporary Card has been registered to their Membership Account;
  • (b) Velocity Points to appear in their Membership Account after the member swipes their Membership Card at Participating BP Service Stations when making an Eligible Purchase; or
  • (c) Velocity Points to appear in a Membership Account after the member swipes a registered BP Temporary Card at Participating BP Service Stations when making an Eligible Purchase.

No retrospective claims for Velocity Points will be accepted at any time, even in instances where due to technology malfunctions the Velocity Card or BP Temporary Card cannot be swiped during an Eligible Purchase.

3. REDEEMING VELOCITY POINTS

Velocity members may redeem their Velocity Points at Participating BP Service Stations in a Redemption Transaction on the terms and conditions set out in this clause 3.

Velocity members may redeem Velocity Points at all Participating BP Service Stations on and from 7th July 2016.

In order to redeem Velocity Points:

  • (a) the Velocity member must:
  • (i) have an active Velocity Membership Account;
  • (ii) have a Velocity PIN for their Membership Account which must not be locked;
  • (iii) have set a Pay With Points In-Store Redemption Option with BP in their Membership Account;
  • (iv) swipe their Membership Card at the point of sale; and
  • (v) have sufficient Velocity Points in their Membership Account for the redemption; and
  • (b) the combined value of Eligible Products and Services purchased must be equal to or more than the Pay With Points In-Store Redemption Option set with BP in the member’s Membership Account; and
  • (c) the option to redeem Velocity Points must be presented to the member at the point of sale terminal.

BP Temporary Cards will not be accepted for Redemption Transactions.

Any Eligible Products and Services which have been paid for in a Redemption Transaction and are found to be faulty, damaged or unfit for use must be returned to the Participating BP Service Station by the Velocity member in order for BP to assist with an exchange or equivalent refund in cash or another approved refund method. The refund will not be issued in the form of Velocity Points. Any dispute regarding a Redemption Transaction must be raised by the Velocity member with BP within 30 days of the Redemption Transaction taking place.

The minimum equivalent dollar value which can be set as a Pay With Points In-Store Redemption Option with BP is $10.00 which equates to 1,667 Velocity Points. The maximum equivalent dollar value which can be set as a Pay With Points In-Store Redemption Option with BP is $60.00 which equates to 10,000 Velocity Points.

For any Redemption Transaction where the combined value of Eligible Products and Services purchased exceeds the member’s Pay With Points In-Store Redemption Option with BP, the outstanding value amount must be paid immediately at the point of sale with an accepted payment method, other than an Excluded Payment Method and BP Gift Card. If the outstanding value amount cannot be paid, the balance of the purchase will be cancelled and goods /services returned.

4. MEMBER PREFERENCES

Members who:

  • (a) register for, participate in and agree to the terms of any marketing or promotional activity conducted by Velocity and BP; or
  • (b) add or convert a Temporary Card to a Membership Account; or
  • (c) activate or become Members of Velocity Frequent Flyer as a result of any marketing or promotional activity conducted by Velocity and BP; or
  • (d) activate or become Members of Velocity Frequent Flyer as a result of referral from a BP website,

will be provided with BP’s Privacy Policy notice and consent to BP receiving the Member’s Personal Information in accordance with the terms BP’s Privacy Policy.

Members who are subscribed to “Other Partner Offers” communication preference, or join Velocity on or after 16 April 2015, will be automatically subscribed to the “Fuel Partner Offers” communication preference.

5. BP TEMPORARY CARD

A BP Temporary Card may be obtained from Participating BP Service Stations and is activated when it is first swiped during an Eligible Purchase.

A BP Temporary Card must be registered to a Membership Account within 30 days of activation and be registered using the following process:

  • a) Customers who are not existing Velocity members must join Velocity Frequent Flyer and register their BP Temporary Card at velocityfrequentflyer.com/bp or velocityfrequentflyer.com/join;
  • b) Existing Velocity members who use a BP Temporary Card must register the BP Temporary Card to their Membership Account either by:
  • i. following the instructions at velocityfrequentflyer.com/bp; or
  • ii. logging in to their Membership Account with their Velocity membership number and password and registering the BP Temporary Card number within the My Benefits page; or
  • iii. contacting the Membership Contact Centre on 13 18 75.

If a BP Temporary Card is successfully registered to a Membership Account within 30 days of activation, any Velocity Points earned on the BP Temporary Card prior to registration as a result of an Eligible Purchase/s will appear in the member’s Membership Account within 72 hours. Once a BP Temporary Card has been registered to a Membership Account, a Velocity member may continue to use the BP Temporary Card at Participating BP Service Stations up to a maximum of 3 months from activation.

A BP Temporary Card expires and cannot be used upon the earlier of:

  • a) thirty (30) days from the date a BP Temporary Card is activated during an Eligible Purchase and the BP Temporary Card has not been registered to a Membership Account;
  • b) a maximum of three (3) months from the date of the activation of a registered BP Temporary Card
  • c) immediately where a Membership Card issued for the same Membership Account as the registered BP Temporary Card is swiped during an Eligible Purchase; or
  • d) where a Velocity member registers a new BP Temporary Card to their Membership Account, the previously registered BP Temporary Card registered to the same Membership Account (not yet expired) will expire immediately.

All Velocity Points earned when using a registered BP Temporary Card are automatically allocated to the registered Membership Account within 72 hours of an Eligible Purchase.

A Velocity member may only register one BP Temporary Card to their Membership Account in any 24 hour period. A maximum of five (5) BP Temporary Cards may be registered to a Membership Account during any thirty (30) day period.

BP may, in its sole discretion, block the registration a BP Temporary Card to a Velocity Member’s Account.

If a BP Temporary Card is not registered to a Membership Account within 30 days of activation, all accumulated Velocity Points will be forfeited and will not be allocated to a Membership Account.

BP may, in its sole discretion, immediately suspend or terminate without notice the BP Temporary Card of any person who, in BP’s opinion, has abused or misused a BP Temporary Card. All BP Temporary Cards remain the property of BP. If found, please return to GPO Box 5222 Melbourne 3001.

BP Temporary Cards are for the sole use and benefit of individuals and cannot be used for the benefit of commercial entities. Any misuse of a BP Temporary Card can result in the removal of Velocity Points, suspension or termination of either the BP Temporary Card and/or Velocity membership.

BP Temporary Cards are subject to availability of cards at Participating BP Service Stations.

6. GENERAL

When at a BP service station, members must abide by all BP safety requirements that are communicated by on site signage, BP staff and detailed at http://www.bp.com/en_au/australia/products-services/service-stations/service-station-safety.html. BP reserves its right to refuse service or entry to its service stations to any person who does not abide by BP’s safety requirements.
